Brand: Böhler Welding
Böhler Welding SABER 70 CHP Plasma Cutting Machine
Description
A portable plasma cutter with synergic cutting programs
The Böhler Welding SABER 70 CHP is a plasma cutting machine with an inverter power source and the Böhler PlasmaDrive process. Böhler Welding points to a large 3.5 in colour LCD display, synergic cutting programs for different materials and plasma gouging as the main benefits. The synergic programs cover steel, stainless steel (CrNi) and aluminium in the 1 to 35 mm thickness range, and 64 programs can be stored.
The machine runs on 3 x 400 V or 3 x 230 V supplies and is supplied with the SP70 torch and a 25 mm2, 4 m work cable. Arc ignition in lift mode is listed as a feature.

What the thickness figures mean
Böhler gives four thickness values for carbon steel at 400 V. The separation cut of 35 mm is the largest thickness that can be severed, while the maximum cut of 28 mm and recommended cut of 20 mm are the figures to use when quality and speed matter. Perforation, the thickness the arc can pierce without starting from an edge, is 15 mm. On a 230 V supply the current range drops to 20 to 55 A, so the cutting performance values should be read as 400 V values.
Typical uses and installation
With 70 A maximum current and an 18.6 kg body, the machine suits maintenance cutting, sheet and plate preparation, and plasma gouging in workshops and on site. Consumable parts, gas supply and compressed-air quality are not covered in the data sheet; confirm them against the torch documentation before ordering. Plan the supply as a three-phase connection with a 16 A fuse at 400 V or 20 A at 230 V.
Documents and quotation
The attached Böhler Welding technical data sheet lists the equipment options, technical features and technical data for the SABER 70 CHP. For a quotation please send the application and material, the wire or electrode type and diameter, the mains supply available on site, the cooling method and torch you need, and the quantity. About brand
Böhler Welding is the welding consumables brand of voestalpine Böhler Welding, part of the voestalpine group, with a portfolio that covers stick electrodes, TIG rods, solid wires, gas-shielded and self-shielded flux-cored wires and submerged-arc wires and fluxes. The company states more than 100 years of experience. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists Böhler Welding consumables and welding machines, including pipeline electrodes, and sources Böhler Welding consumables for fabricators and pipeline contractors.
Böhler Welding product groups
Beyond the consumables above, Böhler Welding lists strip cladding, wire arc additive manufacturing, metal powders, arc spraying cored wires, ceramic weld backing, brazing consumables and welding automation such as orbital welding and collaborative robots. The pipeline range includes cellulosic FOX CEL electrodes and basic vertical-down FOX BVD electrodes for large-diameter line pipe.
Ordering Böhler Welding consumables: what we need
Give the product name, the AWS or EN classification, the diameter and length, and the packaging you need. For pipeline electrodes also state the pipe grade, wall thickness, welding position and whether sour-service test values are required, because the Böhler Welding data sheets note that some test values are available on request.
