105 A plasma cutting for workshops and light industry

The GYS NEOCUT 105 is an air plasma cutter for 400 V three-phase supply, rated 105 A at 100% duty cycle. It is the smaller sister of the NEOCUT 125 and shares its housing, interface and torch family, but it draws less from the mains: a 32 A fuse is enough. GYS states a clean-cut capacity of 35 mm in steel, which covers most plate and section work in general fabrication, maintenance and agricultural or vehicle body workshops.

As on the larger model, the air system adjusts pressure and flow automatically for cutting, gouging and marking and for the torch length in use, which GYS says extends consumable life. The HF-free start avoids interference with CNC controls, computers and other electronics close to the cutter.

The OLED display menu offers cutting and gouging, each with or without trigger lock, a mode for cutting grating and perforated sheet, and marking. A counter tracks nozzle and electrode wear, and a pneumatic check reports moisture in the air line and compressor problems.

NEOCUT 105 or NEOCUT 125?

Choose the 105 A model when most cuts are below 30 mm and the available supply is a 32 A three-phase socket. The NEOCUT 125 makes sense for regular cutting of 35 mm to 40 mm plate or heavy gouging, but it needs a 63 A fuse and is 3 kg heavier. In both cases, use the consumable set that matches the cutting current: running a high-current nozzle at low current widens the kerf, and running a low-current nozzle too hot shortens its life. A dry, oil-free air supply with the GYS filter kit protects the torch.

Edge quality also depends on travel speed and stand-off. Too slow a speed leaves heavy dross on the bottom edge, while too fast a speed produces a lagging, bevelled cut. For repeat parts, mounting the AT-125 torch on a cutting table or guide carriage with the CNC kit gives steadier results than freehand cutting and reduces grinding afterwards. Software updates are loaded by USB cable without tools, and the torch can be disconnected quickly for transport.
