Kjellberg K 200 Plasma Cutting System for Mechanised Cutting

Description

A 200 A plasma power source for plate cutting from 1 to 60 mm

The Kjellberg K 200 is a plasma power source for mechanised cutting. Kjellberg describes its aim as optimum and reliable plasma cutting quality with easy operation at lowest cost. The source cuts with oxygen, air and nitrogen and provides a marking function. Automatic gas control is integrated, and the torch connects directly to the power source, which Kjellberg says simplifies installation and maintenance. Cutting data sets for material thicknesses from 1 to 60 mm can be selected and adjusted at up to 200 A.

Cutting speeds listed in the brochure

The brochure gives sample cutting speeds. Mild steel of 10 mm cuts at 130 A at 2900 mm/min with oxygen and 2700 mm/min with air; at 20 mm and 200 A the values are 1750 mm/min (O2) and 1500 mm/min (air). Stainless steel of 10 mm at 130 A cuts at 1900 mm/min with N2 and 1800 mm/min with air, and at 20 mm and 200 A at 1200 mm/min (N2) and 1500 mm/min (air). Aluminium of 12 mm at 130 A cuts at 1800 mm/min with both N2 and air. These are extracts, so the full cutting data set for your thickness, gas and torch should be taken from Kjellberg before a project is specified.

Operation, torches and controls

The plasma system can be operated in CNC mode through the serial RS-485 interface. On guiding systems without a serial interface, the K-Desk app can control the K 200 from a smartphone, with a menu-driven user interface and all process and cutting parameters visible at a glance. The torch range named for the K 200 includes the machine torch K-Torch with direct connection and an easily demountable shaft, the K-Torch QC for quick consumable changes, the hand torches K-Torch M and K-Torch MS for manual cutting and gouging, and the compact robotic torch K-Torch XS Robo.

Installation and documents

The attached Kjellberg K 200 brochure gives the data listed on this page. For a quotation please send the diameter and length, quantity and packaging, the base material and the welding procedure it is to be used in. Tell us the guiding system or cutting table, the gases available and the plate thicknesses to be cut. A mass of 351 kg and a 52 kVA connected load mean the site supply and floor loading should be checked at planning stage. Related items are listed under Plasma Cutting Systems.

About brand

Kjellberg Finsterwalde is a German manufacturer of plasma cutting systems, welding technology and welding electrodes, based in Finsterwalde. The company traces its history to Oscar Kjellberg, who obtained the 1908 German patent for the coated welding electrode, and it has operated in Finsterwalde since 1922. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists the Kjellberg CUTFIRE air plasma cutting systems and sources Kjellberg equipment for fabricators and workshops.

Kjellberg product groups

The cutting range runs from mobile CUTFIRE air plasma units for hand-held and mechanised work to automated systems such as HiFocus, Smart Focus and the iQ and Q series, with KjellCut torches and the Q-Torch automatic torch-change system. On the welding side Kjellberg lists coated electrodes for unalloyed, high-temperature, stainless, nickel-base, cast iron, underwater and surfacing work, plus submerged-arc and TIG welding technology.

Ordering Kjellberg equipment: what we need

Give the model name, the mains voltage and frequency, the material and thickness to be cut, and whether the system will be used hand-held or on a cutting table. For plasma systems also state the torch hose length and whether a CNC interface is needed.
