Brand:

JUMO ecoTRANS Lf 03 DIN-Rail Conductivity Transmitter

Description

Conductivity and resistivity from pure water to concentrated brine, in a DIN-rail case

The JUMO ecoTRANS Lf 03 (type 202732) pairs with two-electrode conductivity cells of cell constant 0.01, 0.1, 1.0, 3.0 or 10.0 per cm and shows conductivity or resistivity in µS/cm, mS/cm, kΩ*cm, MΩ*cm, umho/cm or mmho/cm. The ranges run from 0 to 1 µS/cm up to 0 to 200 mS/cm, depending on the cell constant, so the same transmitter can serve reverse-osmosis permeate or a brine line. It adds a USP 645 switching function for pharmaceutical water, three temperature-compensation modes (natural water to EN 27888, ASTM D 1125-95 for high-purity water, or linear), a calibration timer and three-way isolation between input, output and supply. JUMO names freshwater and water treatment, reverse osmosis, ion exchangers, high-purity water, condensate, rinsing baths and cooling water as typical applications.

Order code and accessories

Order code 202732/ output I – output II – output III / extra code. Output I (conductivity or resistivity) and output II (temperature) are both fixed at 888, a freely programmable analog output. Output III is 101 for one changeover relay or 177 for two open-collector outputs. Extra code 000 means none and 024 includes the PC setup software. The datasheet example is 202732/888-888-101/000. Stock items ship in three working days. Accessories are the setup software (00441961), a USB interface cable (00456352), a conductivity simulator (00300478, datasheet 202711) and a DIN-rail power supply type PS5R-A24 with 24 V DC, 0.3 A output (00374661). Cells must be chosen separately, and the cell constant must match the range you need: low constants for ultrapure water, high constants for high-conductivity liquids.

High-purity water and pharmaceutical duty

USP 645 defines on-line evaluation of Purified Water and Water for Injection by conductivity measured without temperature compensation, compared with a table of permitted conductivity at each temperature. When the function is active the configured contact switches as the standard requires, and a pre-alarm contact can warn at a chosen percentage of the table value. JUMO refers to its high-purity water publication FAS 614 for the background. The same transmitter handles resistivity displays for demineralised water and condensate polishing, and the setup program documents and copies configuration between units. In hot-climate utility plants it commonly sits in a marshalling cabinet near RO skids and boiler water panels. A field-mounted alternative is the published dTRANS CR 02. See the liquid analytical systems category for related cells and fittings.

An enquiry should give the cell constant of the sensor (0.01 to 10 per cm), the conductivity range, the medium temperature and the temperature sensor fitted to the cell. State whether conductivity or resistivity is displayed, whether temperature compensation follows natural water, ASTM or a linear coefficient, and whether a relay or two open-collector switching outputs are needed. For pharmaceutical water the USP 645 alarm and pre-alarm function is available. The module is a rail-mounted unit with 14-bit conversion and a 500 ms sampling time, powered from 20 to 30 V DC. The stock items listed cover relay output versions and one with an additional extra code.

The unit is also used as a resistivity monitor for ultrapure water and reverse osmosis permeate, where low cell constants such as 0.01 per cm give resolution in the sub-microsiemens range. Check the leads, because lead resistance compensation is part of the accuracy.

About brand

JUMO is the German maker of temperature sensors, process controllers, pressure transmitters and liquid analysis instruments. Moritz Kurt Juchheim founded it in Fulda in 1948 as M. K. Juchheim KG, making glass thermometers with six employees. The name JUMO comes from the founder's name. It is still a family company headquartered in Fulda, and the parent company has been called JUMO GmbH & Co. KG since 2003.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list JUMO RTD and thermocouple probes, thermowells, transmitters, controllers, recorders and water analysis instruments, and supply them to process plants, OEMs, HVAC contractors and water utilities in Oman and the GCC by type number.

Choosing a temperature sensor starts with the range and accuracy. A Pt100 RTD is accurate and stable from about -200 to 600 °C and is the usual choice in process plants. A thermocouple (type K or J, for example) covers much higher temperatures and responds faster but is less accurate. The wiring also matters: a 3-wire or 4-wire Pt100 connection cancels the resistance of the cable, while a 2-wire connection adds an error that grows with cable length. That is why a head-mounted transmitter is often fitted close to the sensor.

Where JUMO products are used

In Oman and the GCC, JUMO sensors and controllers are used in oil and gas and chemical plants, food and beverage production, plastics and metal heat treatment, HVAC and district cooling, water and wastewater treatment, swimming pools and marine applications.

Ordering JUMO products: what we need

Send the JUMO type number and the full order code from the label (for example 902020/10-...). For probes, add the sensor type (Pt100, Pt1000, type K or J), the number of wires, the insertion length and diameter, and the process connection. For controllers, add the input, outputs and supply voltage.
