JUMO AQUIS 500 AS Standard-Signal Indicator and Controller

Description

One display and controller for any 4-20 mA analytical or level signal

The JUMO AQUIS 500 AS (type 202568) does not measure a single parameter itself. It takes a standard signal, 0(4) to 20 mA or 0 to 10 V, from a transmitter or sensor, scales it to a user unit such as mg/l, pH, mV or µS/cm, and adds limit, alarm and PID control functions. A second analog input accepts a Pt100, Pt1000 or NTC/PTC resistance thermometer for temperature display or compensation, and the instrument supplies 24 V DC at up to 30 mA to power a 2-wire transmitter directly. That makes it a convenient local indicator for the JUMO chlorine sensors of datasheet 202630, for pH or redox 2-wire transmitters of datasheet 202701, and for hydrostatic level probes such as type 402090 or 404390, without a separate loop supply.

Selecting the order code

Order code 202568/ followed by the housing (10 panel mounting, 20 surface mounting), input 888 (0(4) to 20 mA and 0 to 10 V, freely configurable), output 1 and output 2 (000 none or 888 analog), outputs 3 and 4 (000 none or 310 changeover relay), supply 23, 25 or 30 and extra code 000. The datasheet sample is 202568/20-888-888-000-310-000-23/000. Two stock versions are listed: 202568/20-888-888-888-310-310-23/000, part number 00528718, with two analog outputs and two relays, and 202568/20-888-888-000-310-000-23/000, part number 00528719, with one analog output and one relay. Optional installation hardware covers a protective roof, a pipe set, a DIN rail set, a support pillar and a holder for suspension fittings. The PC setup program adds custom display units, the level linearisation table and subsequent language loading.

Typical loops built around it

JUMO shows four reference arrangements. In a pH loop the unit powers a 2-wire transmitter with a compensation thermometer and offers a calibrated analog output, which keeps long cable runs low in interference and moves calibration to the front panel. In a disinfectant loop it pairs with a free-chlorine sensor and a flow monitor, so a missing sample flow can be supervised. For level, a hydrostatic probe feeds the 4-20 mA input and the 20-point table converts depth to litres in a non-linear tank. For flow, a MID flow transmitter of type 406010 supplies the signal. In water-treatment plants in hot climates the same pattern serves dosing control for hypochlorite or peroxide where one local display and two relays are enough. Compare with the AQUIS 500 pH, which includes the sensor interface directly.

For a quotation, tell us the signal source (4 to 20 mA or 0 to 10 V), whether a 2-wire transmitter must be powered from the 24 V loop supply, and the mains or low-voltage supply available at site. State how many relays and analog outputs the loop needs, and whether the housing should be surface mounted at IP67 or placed in a panel at IP65. If a compensation thermometer is used, mention Pt100 or Pt1000, because the unit detects the type automatically. A tank table with up to 20 value pairs is easy to prepare when you send the tank shape and the probe range.

About brand

Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.

JUMO product families listed

JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:

  • dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
  • Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
  • digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
  • NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
  • RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs

Where JUMO sensors are used

JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.

Ordering JUMO parts: what we need

JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.
