Brand:

Gent 74430-88NM Electronic Solenoid Bell Range

Description

Electronic bell for fire alarm sounder circuits

The Gent 74430-88NM is the 24 V DC red IP21 member of the Honeywell Gent electronic bell range. The datasheet describes an electronic bell that is compliant with EN 54-3, available in red or grey metal casing and suitable for both semi-flush and surface mounting. A miniature solenoid combined with an integrated control circuit gives good sound coverage, low current consumption and improved reliability.

Benefits listed by the manufacturer are suitability for all locations, easy fitting, protection up to IP44C with the weather resistant option, and an easily identified signal. The clip-together assembly and the weatherproof kit option keep installation simple, and the improved aesthetics suit prestigious locations.

Picking the bell version

Four order codes cover the datasheet range. Choose 24 V DC for most addressable and conventional panel sounder circuits, 12 V DC where the panel supplies 12 V, and 230 V AC where a mains-fed bell is specified. The weather resistant versions, 74432-88NM and 74333-50NM, are rated IP44; the standard versions are IP21C and belong indoors.

The monitored reverse polarity feature applies to the DC versions, so the sounder circuit wiring should be connected with the correct polarity and an end-of-line device suited to the panel. Check the total current of all bells on a circuit against the sounder circuit rating of the panel, for example the 500 mA per circuit limit on the Gent Xenex panel.

Legacy status

Honeywell’s UK product page for the 74430-88NM electronic solenoid bell shows a Discontinued notice. Treat this range as a legacy line, and quote the order code printed on the existing bell when you ask for replacements. About brand

Vigilon is the analog addressable fire alarm system that has made Gent a familiar name on British-specified buildings. The company's roots go back to 1872 in Leicester, and its panels and loop devices are designed to EN 54. Seven Star LLC supplies Gent fire alarm panels and system parts to contractors and facility teams in Oman, including Vigilon control panels and loop cards for existing sites.

Gent Vigilon panels and parts listed here

Three of the items on this page are panel parts. The Vigilon Compact Plus is the smaller panel for one or two loops. The Vigilon Plus, listed as VIGPLUS-72, is the larger control panel for one to six loops with 72-hour standby capacity. The VIG-LPC-EN loop card adds or replaces a loop circuit in the VIGPLUS-24 and VIGPLUS-72 panels. On the loops, Gent uses its own device families, notably S-Quad devices that combine multi-sensor detection with sounder, voice and visual alarm options.

Ordering Gent fire alarm parts: what we need

Gent systems are configured per site, so details matter. Send the part number from the panel or card label, the panel type and number of loops, the panel firmware version if shown, and the device types on the loop. For a new panel, state loops required, network cards, printer or repeater options and battery size. We supply to projects in the GCC and check each part number against the manufacturer's documentation.
