Orbitalum GF 6 Pipe Cutting and Beveling Machine
Description
Planetary saw for process pipe from DN 15 to DN 150
The Orbitalum GF 6 is the larger of Orbitalum’s two compact GF pipe saws. It clamps pipe from 21.3 to 168.3 mm OD and walls up to 15 mm, then cuts and bevels it with a blade orbiting the clamped pipe. The result is a right-angled end without burr or deformation, the condition automated orbital TIG welding needs for consistent fit-up. Typical users are installers of chemical, pharmaceutical, food, power plant and shipbuilding piping.
Blade speed is set electronically between 40 and 215 rpm and held constant under load, so tough materials such as Hastelloy or P91 can be cut at a low speed that protects the blade. All settings are made with multifunction keys on the machine, and a line laser marks the cut position on the pipe.

Matching the GF 6 to the job
The minimum-ID row is the key selection check. A smaller blade reaches less deep, so thick-walled small-bore pipe needs a larger blade: with an 80 mm blade the bore must be at least 13 mm, and with a 100 mm blade even solid material inside the OD range can be parted. Blade type and tooth form should be chosen for the material and wall thickness; Orbitalum publishes a separate saw-blade datasheet for this.
For one-off site cuts the manual GF 6 is enough. When a prefabrication shop cuts many identical spools, the MVM handwheel or the AVM automatic feed keeps the feed rate constant, which improves surface finish and blade life; the AVM switches off by itself when the cut is through. At roughly 93 to 102 kg, the machine is normally used on a bench or stand rather than carried around the site.
The case kit matches the GF 4: transport case, stainless caps, mounting plate, line laser fitted before first use, tool keys, gear oil, GF TOP blade lubricant and instructions.

About brand
High-purity tube work depends on two things: a square, burr-free cut and a weld that comes out the same every time. Orbitalum Tools, founded in 1960 and based in Singen, Germany, makes the machines for both steps. Seven Star LLC supplies Orbitalum pipe saws, tube facing machines and orbital welding systems to fabricators and site contractors in Oman, and ten of these machines are listed on this page.
Orbitalum cutting, facing and welding machines
The listing follows the workflow on the tube. Cutting comes first: the GFX 3.0 pipe cutting and beveling machine and the portable PS 4.5 Plus pipe saw. The RPG 4.5 then squares and faces the tube end ready for a butt weld without filler.
On the welding side, the Mobile Welder and Smart Welder Plus are orbital TIG power sources that store and run the weld program. They drive the weld heads:
- ORBIWELD 17 and ORBIWELD 19, enclosed micro heads for small-bore tube
- ORBIWELD TP, an open head for pipe
- P16 EVO, for tube-to-tube-sheet welds
- DVR M, a rotary device that turns the workpiece under a fixed torch
Where Orbitalum equipment is used
Orbital welding and tube preparation of this kind are used wherever a weld has to be repeatable and documented: semiconductor gas lines, pharmaceutical and biotech process piping, food and beverage plants and heat exchanger manufacturing. In the GCC that translates into clean utility and process piping in pharmaceutical and dairy plants, instrument and analyzer tubing, gas distribution lines and tube-sheet work on heat exchangers.
Ordering Orbitalum machines: what we need
Tell us the tube or pipe outside diameter range, wall thickness and material first, because every Orbitalum machine has a defined working range. For a saw or facing machine, add the mains voltage or battery version and the blade or tool bit type. For welding, state the joint type (tube to tube, fitting, tube sheet), whether filler wire is needed, the power source you already own and the clamping shells or collets by diameter. For spare parts, send the machine type, serial number and the part code from the manual. We check the selection against the manufacturer's documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Pipe OD 21.3 to 168.3 mm (0.839 to 6.626 in), i.e. DN 15 to DN 150 steel pipe sizes.
1.5 to 15 mm depending on material.
With a 100 mm blade the datasheet gives a minimum pipe ID of 0 mm, so solid sections within the OD range can be cut.
Automatic head feed at 0.3 to 3.5 rpm with up to 353 Nm torque, monitoring feed force and switching off when the cut is complete.
About 92.7 kg for the base unit, 97.8 kg with MVM and 101.7 kg with AVM.
