GBC SUPERMAXI 7_24 Portable Pipe Beveling Machine

Description

The GBC SUPERMAXI 7_24 is an internally clamping pipe beveling machine for pipelines, boilers, fittings and plant piping. It locks inside bores from 180 to 504 mm (7.08–19.84 in) and works outside diameters from 190 to 508 mm; an optional extension kit raises the locking range to 589 mm and the working range to 609.6 mm (24 in). Pneumatic, electric and hydraulic drives are offered.

Six-point locking for vibration-free beveling

GBC describes the 7_24 as a new-generation machine with a six-contact-point locking system that keeps the head stable during the cut. A revised feed system and motors deliver constant radial speed so that every pass is even, and the layout lets chips from one pass clear away before the next. Installation and centring are designed to be quick and precise.

The machine can turn, taper internally and externally, and bevel inside or outside on steel pipe and special alloys: carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex and Inconel are named in the data sheet.

Tooling and drive selection

The redesigned mandrel accepts both standard solid-body tools and wedge-locking tools with interchangeable inserts. Bevel tools for any angle are available in 8% cobalt, titanium-coated and hard-metal-tipped grades, so the tool can be matched to the material. The air version needs a compressor able to deliver about 2800 Nl/min; the hydraulic version runs from a GBC power pack; the electric version is convenient where only mains power is available.

Internal locking machines such as this one need a reasonably round, clean bore for the clamps to bear on. Remove heavy scale or weld spatter from the clamping zone before installation, and check that the bevel tools are sharp and correctly set for the wall thickness. On thick walls, several lighter passes generally give a better finish and less chatter than one heavy cut. Tool grade should follow the material: cobalt HSS for general carbon steel, coated or carbide-tipped tools for stainless and nickel alloys.

About brand
G.B.C. Industrial Tools is an Italian manufacturer of machines for cutting and beveling metal pipes and plates, founded in 1981 by Bruno Giottoli. Since 2016 its operations have been centralised in a facility in Cazzago San Martino, near Brescia, where the machines are designed and built. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists the GBC SUPERMAXI 4_16 pipe beveling machine and sources GBC equipment for piping and fabrication work.

GBC product groups

The range includes portable pipe bevelers, pipe cutters, plate bevelers, flange facing machines, back-gouging grinders, stationary machines and special machines, together with pipe stands and pipe clamps. GBC names oil and gas, offshore, petrochemical and refining plants, pipelines, heat exchangers, shipbuilding and wind towers among the sectors it serves. Many models are offered with pneumatic, electric or hydraulic drive.

Ordering GBC machines: what we need

Give the model and drive, the pipe inside and outside diameters, the wall thickness and material, and the bevel geometry. Mention whether an extension kit, a hydraulic power pack or spare tools are needed, and send the GBC tool code for replacement tools.
