Description
A narrow pipe beveller for boiler tubes and tight spaces
The Promotech PRO-2 PB is a compact portable machine that faces and bevels the ends of small-bore pipes and tubes in carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium alloys and copper-nickel. It locks inside the bore on a self-centring expandable mandrel and cuts with a single tool bit, leaving a machined weld preparation without heat input.
Its housing is only 48 mm wide, which is the main reason it is chosen for boiler water walls, tube panels and other places where tubes run close together. A wet multi-disc friction clutch protects the gearing if the tool jams in the cut.

Choosing drive, mandrel and tool bits
The standard set is supplied without a motor, so the drive is selected separately: pneumatic motor NPD-0472-03-00-00-0 with its adapter and driver, electric motor SLN-000238 (230 V) with driver ZBI-0567-26-00-00-0, or the brushless battery drive WRT-000024 with 4.0, 5.5 or 10.0 Ah packs and an air-cooled charger. The air version suits plants with a reliable compressed-air supply; the battery version removes hoses and cables where the machine has to be carried along a tube wall.
The standard mandrel covers 19.5–38 mm ID and comes with four sets of spreaders and expansion sleeves. Tool bits are ordered by profile: 0° facing bits (short and long), and 30°, 37.5° and 45° bevelling bits, each in a steel version (NOZ-000071 to NOZ-000075) and a TiAlN-coated stainless version (NOZ-000078 to NOZ-000082).
Shipping set and related machines
The PRO-2 PB is delivered in a plastic box with the standard mandrel, tool bit holder, handle, a set of tools, a tool box, a coolant container with nozzle and the operator's manual. Tool bits and the drive are added to the order. For pipes up to 114 mm OD the larger Promotech PRO-5 PB follows the same ID-clamping principle.
