Portable orbital TIG power source with detachable cooler

The Orbitalum Mobile Welder OC Plus (order code 854 000 011) is a portable orbital welding power source for tube installation work in plant rooms, on skids and on site. It delivers 5 to 180 A DC and is built on the same software platform as the Orbitalum Smart Welder, so operators trained on one machine can use the other and welding programs can be exchanged between them. The unit is designed to be carried by handle or shoulder strap into areas that are hard to reach.

It ships with the ORBICOOL MW liquid cooling unit, which connects in a few steps and allows liquid-cooled closed weld heads to run at high duty. When only gas-cooled heads are used, the cooler is removed to save weight.

Software, data logging and options

Further standard features listed by Orbitalum include wide-range input, coolant and welding-gas monitoring, fully digital gas management, auto programming, weld data logging, multilingual menus, metric and imperial units, user levels with access control, and LAN/IoT/VNC readiness. Weld records can be printed on the internal thermal printer or exported over USB for quality documentation.

Upgrade options are the Connectivity LAN/IoT/VNC package (850 080 001, requires the MW+ software upgrade), a bar-code/QR scanner, the ORBmax residual oxygen meter, a double pressure reducer, ground cable and USB WLAN stick. The optional gas-cooled TIG manual torch with 6 m hose package enables a manual welding mode for tacking and for joints where a weld head cannot be clamped.

Before ordering, check that the site supply exceeds 160 V for full current and confirm with Orbitalum that the planned closed or open weld heads are compatible with the Mobile Welder interface. Shielding gas is supplied from a cylinder through a pressure reducer, and a double pressure reducer is listed among the optional accessories.

About brand

High-purity tube work depends on two things: a square, burr-free cut and a weld that comes out the same every time. Orbitalum Tools, founded in 1960 and based in Singen, Germany, makes the machines for both steps. Seven Star LLC supplies Orbitalum pipe saws, tube facing machines and orbital welding systems to fabricators and site contractors in Oman, and many of these machines are listed on this page.

Orbitalum cutting, facing and welding machines

The listing follows the workflow on the tube. Cutting comes first: the GFX 3.0 pipe cutting and beveling machine and the portable PS 4.5 Plus pipe saw. The RPG 4.5 then squares and faces the tube end ready for a butt weld without filler.

On the welding side, the Mobile Welder and Smart Welder Plus are orbital TIG power sources that store and run the weld program. They drive the weld heads:

Where Orbitalum equipment is used

Orbital welding and tube preparation of this kind are used wherever a weld has to be repeatable and documented: semiconductor gas lines, pharmaceutical and biotech process piping, food and beverage plants and heat exchanger manufacturing. In the GCC that translates into clean utility and process piping in pharmaceutical and dairy plants, instrument and analyzer tubing, gas distribution lines and tube-sheet work on heat exchangers.

Ordering Orbitalum machines: what we need

Tell us the tube or pipe outside diameter range, wall thickness and material first, because every Orbitalum machine has a defined working range. For a saw or facing machine, add the mains voltage or battery version and the blade or tool bit type. For welding, state the joint type (tube to tube, fitting, tube sheet), whether filler wire is needed, the power source you already own and the clamping shells or collets by diameter. For spare parts, send the machine type, serial number and the part code from the manual. We check the selection against the manufacturer's documentation.
