Tri Tool 204B BEVELMASTER Pipe Beveling Machine

Description

The Tri Tool 204B BEVELMASTER is the small-bore member of Tri Tool’s ID-mounted 200 series. It bevels, faces and counterbores the ends of pipe and tubing before welding, and clamps inside bores from 31.8 mm (1.25 in) up to 110.0 mm (4.33 in). Weighing about 8.1 kg (18 lb), it suits tight boiler, skid and process piping work where a single fitter has to carry and set the tool.

Small-bore end prep that one fitter can carry

The lathe reacts its own cutting torque through the mandrel, so nothing has to be braced against the pipe run. A manually actuated draw rod pushes the mandrel ramps and jaw blocks outwards, which centres the head in the bore and aligns it with the pipe axis. Tri Tool hardens the mandrel shaft head to Rc 50, uses tapered mandrel and spindle bearings, and fits a shaft seal that keeps coolant out of the gearing. The heat-treated mounting blocks are designed for long life and a secure grip.

As standard the system ships with the 204B sub-assembly, a 4 in diameter head kit with cam, the air motor, mandrel assembly, jaw block set, wrench kit, carrying case and operator’s manual. All wrenches needed to run it are included; tool bits are ordered for the required profile.

Materials, speeds and accessories

Mild steel, chrome steels up to Rc 35, stainless steel, copper-nickel and aluminium can be machined within the size and wall limits above. Inconel and some other high-temperature alloys may need special procedures that depend on wall thickness and the end preparation; Tri Tool advises on these. As a guide, the specification gives 21 rpm at 4.50 in and 76 rpm at 1.25 in for 300 surface inches per minute.

Optional items include reduced-diameter mandrels for 25.4–31.8 mm and 15.5–25.4 mm bores, a flange facer kit, an elbow mandrel kit with pointer, a small-elbow mandrel and the Air Caddy FRL. The air supply must pass through a filter, regulator and lubricator to protect the air motor warranty. Tri Tool also lists an electric 204BE version with its own specification.

About brand
Tri Tool designs portable precision machine tools for weld end preparation and on-site machining, and its history goes back to 1972, when the company was co-founded by Dr. George J. Wernette. It works from Rancho Cordova, California. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists the Tri Tool 208B BEVELMASTER pipe beveling machine and sources Tri Tool equipment for piping contractors. Tri Tool product groups The catalogue covers pipe beveling machines, pipe facing tools including offshore versions, tube facing and squaring tools, tube severing tools, heat exchanger tube facing tools, hydraulic power units and Walhonde line-up clamps. Alongside the standard machines the company offers custom-engineered tools, field machining services and equipment rentals, with applications in power generation, oil and gas, aerospace and government work. Ordering Tri Tool machines: what we need State the model and the drive (air, hydraulic or electric), the pipe size and schedule range, the material and the end preparation you need, such as bevel, compound bevel, facing or counterbore. Tool bits are profile-specific, so give the bevel angle and land, or the Tri Tool part number.

Frequently Asked Questions

What bore range does the Tri Tool 204B clamp?
