Tri Tool 214B BEVELMASTER Pipe Beveling Machine

Description

The Tri Tool 214B BEVELMASTER covers the 4 in to 14 in band that dominates plant piping and fabrication shops. It is an ID-mounted portable lathe that bevels, faces and counterbores pipe ends, with an in-line feed knob at the rear and a pneumatic motor at a right angle to the lathe head. At roughly 36.3 kg (80 lb) and fitted with a carrying handle, it can still be handled by one operator.

Mid-range lathe for 4 in to 14 in pipe

Tri Tool rates the 214B for 4 in pipe from schedule 5 through 160 and for 5 in through 14 in pipe in all schedules. On tubing it bevels walls up to 33.4 mm (1.32 in) with a maximum OD of 355.6 mm (14.00 in) and a minimum ID of 87.4 mm (3.44 in). Heavier walls are possible when the bore stays above 3.44 in and the OD below 14 in, and counterboring covers IDs from 87.4 to 330.2 mm.

The standard system includes the 214B sub-assembly, two aluminium tool holders and one steel tool holder, mandrel assembly, air motor, wrench kit, carrying case and operator’s manual. All tools needed to run it are supplied except the tool bits.

Low head speed, high torque

Compared with the 208B, the 214B turns its head much more slowly, about 5 rpm at 14 in and 16 rpm at 4 in for 200 surface inches per minute, which keeps cutting speed sensible on the larger diameters and heavier walls. Mild and chrome steels to Rc 35, stainless steel, copper-nickel and aluminium are cut without limitation other than size and wall; high-temperature alloys such as Inconel may need special procedures.

Accessories listed by Tri Tool are a flange facer kit, elbow mandrel kit and pointer, dial indicator kit, miter mandrel kit, sleeve mandrel kit, ID tracking module kit and the Air Caddy FRL. Separate specifications exist for the hydraulic and heavy-duty electric 214B versions.

When choosing between neighbouring models, compare the bore you must clamp in as well as the OD: the 214B needs a minimum ID of 3.44 in, so very heavy-wall 4 in pipe may call for a smaller lathe. Tool bits are profile specific, so list each weld-end detail (J-bevel, compound bevel, land and counterbore) when ordering.

About brand
Tri Tool designs portable precision machine tools for weld end preparation and on-site machining, and its history goes back to 1972, when the company was co-founded by Dr. George J. Wernette. It works from Rancho Cordova, California. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists the Tri Tool 208B BEVELMASTER pipe beveling machine and sources Tri Tool equipment for piping contractors. Tri Tool product groups The catalogue covers pipe beveling machines, pipe facing tools including offshore versions, tube facing and squaring tools, tube severing tools, heat exchanger tube facing tools, hydraulic power units and Walhonde line-up clamps. Alongside the standard machines the company offers custom-engineered tools, field machining services and equipment rentals, with applications in power generation, oil and gas, aerospace and government work. Ordering Tri Tool machines: what we need State the model and the drive (air, hydraulic or electric), the pipe size and schedule range, the material and the end preparation you need, such as bevel, compound bevel, facing or counterbore. Tool bits are profile-specific, so give the bevel angle and land, or the Tri Tool part number.
