The DTS 3181 460V is a NEMA 4/4X cooling unit of the 1.1 to 1.2 kW class intended for outdoor and washdown installations. It is the 460 V version of the DTS 3181, and it keeps a sealed enclosure cool with a refrigeration circuit, even where the surrounding air is hot, humid and contaminated.

How the DTS 3181 460V works

The unit contains a hermetically sealed refrigerant circuit; the internal air is cooled and dehumidified and the condensate is evaporated in an integrated system so that no drain pipe is necessary. The condenser has 3 mm fin spacing and fully coated heat exchangers and tubing, designed to survive contaminated ambient air.

The unit maintains a UL-tested NEMA 3R/4 or 4/4X seal against the enclosure according to the sheet; the 4/4X version is relevant where hosing down is part of the cleaning routine. It is rated at 100 % duty cycle.

The low ambient version (LAP) of the same unit adds a 900 W heater and thermostat for temperatures below 0 °C. This SC article is for ambient from 0 °C to +55 °C.
