Pfannenberg DTI 6X1E 230V Partially Recessed Cooling Unit

Description

DTI 6X1E 230V partially recessed cooling unit, 1.0 to 2.8 kW

The DTI 6X1E 230V is a partially recessed cooling unit of the Pfannenberg X-Series with a variable cooling capacity of 1,000 to 2,800 W and a 230 V single-phase supply. A Premium Controller manages the speed of the compressor. Seven Star LLC supplies the DTI 6X1E 230V in Oman and the GCC as an independent supplier in Muscat.

In the name DTI means a partially recessed unit, 6X1E the X-Series model with the premium controller, and 230V the supply voltage. Its article number is 13897331555. The DTS 6X1E is the side-mounted twin with the same data, and the DTI 6X2E sibling in the range has a higher capacity. The principal difference between the DTI and the DTS is the mounting: the DTI sits partly inside the cabinet wall.

Variable capacity of the DTI 6X1E 230V

The data table gives a band instead of a single figure: the cooling capacity moves between 1,000 and 2,800 W and the electrical power between 240 and 1,700 W. That wide band points to a unit that adapts its output to the load rather than simply switching on and off. At a light heat load it can then run at low output and consume less power, hold the temperature steadier and avoid frequent compressor starts.

A steadier temperature is better for electronics than the sawtooth pattern of an on-off unit, because thermal cycling stresses solder joints and connectors over the years. The cabinet can also be held closer to the set point.

Partial recess and condensate on the DTI 6X1E 230V

With only 60 mm of installation depth, most of the unit stays outside, but a part of its body is recessed into the cabinet wall, saving some projection and space on the outside. The condensate formed on the evaporator is evaporated in an integrated system, with a safety overflow, so no drain pipe is needed in normal operation.

Fit in the system and related parts

For the same data in a side-mounted form see the DTS 6X1E 230V. Companion options in the series include 400 V versions, and the DTI 6X2E for larger loads. Ask us about accessories and interface options for the series.

DTI 6X1E 230V selection and ordering checklist

  • Heat load and solar gain, against 1,000 to 2,100 W at A35/A50
  • Required inside set temperature from +25 to +50 °C
  • Ambient temperature up to +55 °C
  • 230 V supply with a C 10 A fuse
  • Height of 1,538 mm available on the cabinet side
  • Partial recess or side mount
  • Alarm and monitoring needs

Installing and maintaining the DTI 6X1E 230V

The cabinet needs a cut-out matching the template, and the cabinet frame must be strong enough for a tall unit. Fit the gasket, secure the unit and connect the plug. Leave the air paths free and make sure the cabinet door seals remain intact.

Check the filter and clean the condenser periodically, and review the controller log for alarms. Do not set the temperature below the dew point of the site air, or condensation will form inside the cabinet.

Typical DTI 6X1E 230V applications in Oman and the GCC

Oil and gas, power, desalination and petrochemical sites in Oman and the GCC put electrical enclosures in hot rooms, outdoor shelters and dusty yards. Typical uses are drive and MCC cabinets, PLC cabinets with many I/O modules, telecom shelters and analyser cabinets where the heat load changes during the day and a variable capacity unit saves energy.

A word on electrical supply: the data sheet states a current consumption of 7.4 A and a C 10 A pre-fuse, so the circuit supplying the unit should be dedicated and the cable sized for that duty. In regions with voltage fluctuations or long cable runs from the distribution board, measure the supply at the unit during the peak of the day, since the supply tolerance is ±10 percent and a voltage sag during compressor start can trip alarms. A dedicated breaker and a label identifying the circuit help maintenance crews avoid isolating the cooling by accident during other work in the cabinet room.

About brand

Pfannenberg is the German maker of thermal management and signalling products for electrical enclosures and industry: filter fans, cooling units, air-to-water heat exchangers, chillers, heaters, sirens and beacons. Otto Pfannenberg, an electrical engineer, founded the company in Hamburg in 1954, and in 1958 he invented the filter fan to stop components in control cabinets from overheating. Pfannenberg is still family-owned and headquartered in Hamburg.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Pfannenberg signalling devices and enclosure climate products for panel builders and plant engineers in Oman and the GCC.
