Brand:

Pfannenberg PWS 6302 400V Air/Water Heat Exchanger, 3000 W

Description

PWS 6302 400V air/water heat exchanger: decoded part number

The PWS 6302 400V is a tall, slim εCOOL air/water heat exchanger for side mounting that removes 3000 W with cooling water at 400 l/h. At just 142 mm deep it is designed to share the same cut-out dimensions as the εCOOL cooling units and air/air exchangers, so one cabinet design can accept several cooling technologies.

Decoded: PWS = side-mounted air/water heat exchanger, 6302 = εCOOL 3000 W model, 400V = 400 V two-phase supply. The order number is 12883309055. The partially recessed PWI 6302 is the sister version.

How the PWS 6302 400V works

The cooling principle is that of any air/water exchanger: cabinet air is circulated over a water-fed coil and returned cool. The integrated thermostat and solenoid valve limit water use, and a temperature monitor with alarm contact reports faults.

The manufacturer states that the εCOOL PWx 6000 offers the highest degree of safety and energy efficiency and is maintenance-free. Power consumption is low: the sheet lists about 53 to 75 W for the 400 V version.

The 400 V two-phase supply of this article fits industrial panels that already have an auxiliary supply at that voltage, and the control draws the small fan current from it.

Fit in the system and related Pfannenberg parts

Within the εCOOL family, the PWS 6302 can sit next to side-mounted units such as the DTS 6201C because the cut-outs are compatible.

  • Same model, 230 V: article 12883301055; 115 V: article 12883304055
  • Higher-spec PWS 6302C: 400 V article 12882609055
  • Partially recessed PWI 6302: article 12893309055 (400 V)
  • PWS 6102, 6152 and 6502 in the same εCOOL range

Selection and ordering checklist for the PWS 6302 400V

Before ordering the PWS 6302 400V, settle the following points so that the right variant is quoted:

  • 3000 W against the cabinet heat load at the available water temperature
  • Water flow of 400 l/h, max +35 °C, 10 bar
  • 400 V two-phase supply, T 2 A protection
  • Wall space 1556 mm x 485 mm; depth of only 142 mm
  • Whether cut-out compatibility with an existing cooling unit is needed

Installation, commissioning and maintenance of the PWS 6302 400V

Fit the unit over the cut-out and tighten the fastenings evenly. Hose connections use 13 mm nozzles; other fittings on request. Provide a drain path for condensate and a vent point in the water circuit.

Run the unit for a time and watch the solenoid cycle. Confirm that the alarm contact is wired to the controller.

  • Inspect hoses and clamps
  • Clean the coil and drain
  • Check water quality and strainers
  • Test the alarm contact

Typical applications in Oman and the GCC

This unit suits drive, PLC and instrument cabinets in plants with chilled-water systems, such as power stations, desalination units and refineries. Its slim profile helps in tight corridors and containers.

Because the unit is water-cooled, it keeps the cabinet closed in dusty, hot sites. Ensure that the water supply is dependable; if water stops, an alarm contact should trigger a controlled shutdown of the electronics.

Because the PWS 6302 is only 142 mm deep, it is a practical choice for rows of cabinets in plant rooms where the aisle is narrow. Compare it with the PWI 6302, which recesses part of the housing into the cabinet and so projects even less, and with the 6302C variant, which has a different weight and airflow data and a different article number. Ask us which of these is available for your voltage, and we will confirm against the manufacturer sheet before quoting.

Site conditions in Oman for the PWS 6302 400V

Panel cooling in Oman is sized for the worst case, not the average day. Summer shade temperatures in Muscat, Sohar and the interior regularly pass 45 °C, and a cabinet standing in direct sun gains further heat through its walls. When you size the PWS 6302 400V, add the internal losses of drives, power supplies and PLCs to the solar and wall gain, and compare the total with the useful cooling capacity at your real ambient and target cabinet temperature, rather than with a nominal figure stated at milder test conditions.

Coastal sites near Duqm, Salalah or Sur also bring humidity and salt-laden dust. Keep door seals intact, route the condensate drain away from live parts, and plan routine filter and coil cleaning so that the PWS 6302 400V keeps its rated performance through the long summer season.

About brand

Pfannenberg is the German maker of thermal management and signalling products for electrical enclosures and industry: filter fans, cooling units, air-to-water heat exchangers, chillers, heaters, sirens and beacons. Otto Pfannenberg, an electrical engineer, founded the company in Hamburg in 1954, and in 1958 he invented the filter fan to stop components in control cabinets from overheating. Pfannenberg is still family-owned and headquartered in Hamburg.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Pfannenberg signalling devices and enclosure climate products for panel builders and plant engineers in Oman and the GCC.
