ABB Contrac LME620-AI/-AN Electric Linear Actuator
Overview
The ABB Contrac LME620-AI/-AN is an industrial electromechanical linear actuator for continuous positioning of valves, dampers and vanes. Part of the Contrac family (rated forces 2-100 kN), the LME620 provides 4 kN rated force and is designed for S9 100% stall-proof duty per IEC 60034-1, so it can hold position at full force indefinitely without mechanical or thermal damage.
Engineering and Design
Stroke is adjustable up to 60 mm and travel speed is adjustable from 0.1 to 2.0 mm/s, with 2 mm/s nominal at rated force. The internal rotary-to-linear gear unit is self-locking, and an integrated brake plus handwheel provide safe manual operation for commissioning and emergency situations. Integrated position and temperature sensors feed the electronic unit for accurate position control and diagnostics.
Control is fully flexible: analog setpoint 0/4-20 mA with HART, PROFIBUS DP/DP-V1, or binary (step) inputs. Position feedback is provided as 0-20 or 4-20 mA, and digital end-position outputs (0%/100%) are standard. Power is 115 V AC or 230 V AC supplied through the electronic unit. The housing is IP66 (IEC 60529) / NEMA 4X, with an ambient range of -10 to +55 C (optionally -25 to +55 C), making it suitable for harsh outdoor process environments.
