WIKA TF35 Threaded Temperature Probe with Plug
Description
WIKA TF35 threaded temperature probe with plug connection
The WIKA TF35 is a compact screw-in temperature probe that measures liquids and gases directly in a fitting, with a short integral thermowell and a connector mounted on top. It is aimed at OEM equipment such as compressors, pumps, mobile machines, refrigeration systems and hydrogen applications, and WIKA gives a measuring range of -50 … +200 °C [-58 … +392 °F]. The standard rating is 50 bar, with special hydrogen versions listed up to 1,050 bar. Seven Star LLC supplies the TF35 in Oman and the GCC as an independent supplier in Muscat; the details below show how to select the element, thread and connector.
Sensor elements available on the TF35
| Element | Range |
|---|---|
| Pt1000, class F 0.3 per IEC/EN 60751 | -50 … +200 °C |
| Pt100, class F 0.3 per IEC/EN 60751 | -50 … +200 °C |
| PTC-2000 | -50 … +150 °C |
| NTC 10 kΩ, B(25/85) = 3,976 | -30 … +130 °C |
| NTC 5 kΩ, B(25/85) = 3,976 | -30 … +130 °C |
| NTC 2.5 kΩ, B(20/85) = 3,541 | -30 … +130 °C |
| NTC 2.252 kΩ, B(25/85) = 3,974 | -30 … +130 °C |
Other elements can be supplied on request. Platinum elements follow the IEC standard and have the best stability; NTC and PTC parts are standard for control units but are not interchangeable between suppliers, so match the element to the evaluation electronics.

Connector, ingress protection and ambient limits
| Connector | Ingress protection (when mated) | Ambient range |
|---|---|---|
| AMP Junior Power Timer | IP66, IP67 | -40 … +130 °C |
| FASTON blade 6.3 x 0.8 mm | IP52 | -40 … +130 °C |
| DEUTSCH DT04-2P | IP66, IP67, IP69K | -40 … +130 °C |
| Circular M12 x 1 | IP66, IP67 | -40 … +90 °C |
| Rectangular EN 175301-803 | IP65 | -40 … +100 °C |
The stated protection class applies only when the matching connector with the same rating is fitted, and the mating connectors are not included with the sensor. Keep the connector temperature inside the table: the short insertion length means a hot medium can raise the connector temperature above its limit, so check the stack at your operating point.
Using the TF35 in hydrogen service
The stainless steel 1.4404 / 316L wetted version is the one the datasheet links to hydrogen applications, with pressure ratings up to 1,050 bar for special versions. Confirm the exact pressure and material with us before ordering, since hydrogen fittings are specified by the end user’s standard.
TF35 compared with the TF37
The TF35 has a directly mounted plug, which gives quick installation and good shock behaviour. The TF37 separates the electrical connection from the measuring point with a cable, which suits hot media where an integral connector would overheat. Choose the TF35 when the medium is below the connector limit and the machine has a mating plug already.
Installation and maintenance
- Choose the sealing method for the thread: copper or fibre washers for G threads, O-ring for UNF SAE, thread sealant for NPT
- Do not exceed the tightening torque of the fitting and avoid damaging the thermowell
- Fit the mating connector with the correct cable and keep a drip loop
- For a 2-wire Pt100, allow for lead resistance in the control unit, or use Pt1000 to reduce it
- Replace the probe rather than repairing it, since it is a sealed unit
Applications in Oman and the GCC
The datasheet lists compressors and pumps, mobile working machines, refrigeration technology and hydrogen applications. In the region this means packaged air compressors, lube-oil and coolant circuits on pumps and engines, mobile plant for construction and mining, chillers and cold storage, and emerging hydrogen test and fuelling systems. Engine and compressor rooms are hot and dusty, so choosing a sealed connector with IP67 or higher helps.
TF35 ordering checklist
- Element: Pt100, Pt1000, PTC or NTC with resistance value
- Thread type and size, and sealing method
- Thermowell diameter and insertion length
- Wetted material: brass or stainless steel
- Connector type and mating connector
- Operating pressure and medium
Practical points when specifying the TF35
Because the TF35 is sold mainly into OEM and machine designs, most problems arise from small mismatches rather than from the sensor itself. Check the thread standard against the port in your manifold (G, NPT, metric M14 x 1.5 and the 7/16-20 UNF SAE port are all offered), choose the seal that matches that port, and confirm that the 25 mm insertion length reaches into the flow rather than sitting in the boss. Match the electrical side too: the controller input decides whether you need a Pt100, a Pt1000, a PTC or one of the NTC values, and the harness decides which of the five connector styles is needed.
Finally, think about service. The probe is a sealed unit with a fixed connector, so a failed probe is replaced as a whole. Keep a few spares of the exact thread, element and connector combination, and record the order details on the machine documentation so that a replacement can be matched from the label.

About brand
WIKA is the German manufacturer of pressure, temperature, level and flow instruments, best known for its pressure gauges. Alexander Wiegand and Philipp Kachel founded it on 2 January 1946 in Klingenberg am Main, Bavaria. The name comes from the first two letters of their surnames. WIKA is still run by the Wiegand family and is headquartered in Klingenberg.

| Temperature sensors and thermowells | TR10, TR12-B, TR33, TC10-B, TW10 flanged, TW15 threaded | RTD and thermocouple measurement in process lines |
The WIKA model number tells you the build. In 232.50, the first digit 2 means stainless steel wetted parts, the second digit 3 means a liquid-fillable case, and ".50" is the case style. The 111 series uses copper alloy wetted parts and suits water and air. Where the medium is corrosive, very hot or would block the gauge, a diaphragm seal such as the 990.27 keeps it away from the Bourdon tube. For temperature, a thermowell like the TW10 lets you remove the sensor without opening the process.
Where WIKA instruments are used
In Oman and the GCC, WIKA gauges, transmitters and thermometers are used in oil and gas, refining and petrochemical plants, power and desalination, water networks, district cooling and HVAC, and on skids and machines from OEMs.
Ordering WIKA instruments: what we need
Send the model, dial size (for example 63, 100 or 160 mm), range and unit, connection size and position (lower or back mount), accuracy class and whether liquid filling is needed. For diaphragm seals and thermowells, add the process connection, materials and insertion length.
