WIKA CPG1500 Precision Digital Pressure Gauge
Overview
WIKA CPG1500 is a precision digital pressure gauge and calibration instrument that combines the visual simplicity of an analogue gauge with the accuracy of a digital measuring device. Manufactured by WIKA, a globally recognized German specialist in pressure and temperature instrumentation, the CPG1500 delivers an accuracy of up to 0.025 % of full scale, making it a preferred reference standard for calibration laboratories, service technicians, and process engineers who require dependable, field-verifiable readings. Measuring ranges extend from vacuum and low-pressure applications up to 10,000 bar [150,000 psi], with support for 26 pressure units and 5 level units, or fully custom units, so a single instrument can replace an entire shelf of dedicated analogue test gauges.
With engineering support in Muscat, Seven Star LLC supplies the WIKA CPG1500 precision digital pressure gauge to calibration houses, oil and gas operators, and maintenance divisions throughout the Sultanate of Oman and the wider GCC. Facilities in Muscat, Sohar, and Salalah rely on genuine WIKA calibration hardware, backed by manufacturer traceability and full technical support, to keep pressure test benches, hydrostatic proof stations, and field calibration kits compliant with international measurement standards.
Measurement Principle of the WIKA CPG1500
The WIKA CPG1500 uses a high-stability piezoresistive pressure sensor housed behind the familiar analogue-style dial face, converting mechanical pressure deflection into a calibrated digital signal. Internal temperature compensation across −10 … +50 °C [14 … 122 °F] corrects for thermal drift in real time, so readings stay accurate whether the instrument is used on a shaded calibration bench or an exposed rooftop process line in Gulf ambient heat. An accuracy of 0.1 % FS, optionally 0.05 % FS or 0.025 % FS (chosen when ordering), lets the buyer match instrument precision to the specific calibration task, avoiding the false confidence of an over-specified or the risk of an under-specified reference gauge.
A user-configurable measuring rate, adjustable from three readings per second up to fifty readings per second, allows the CPG1500 to capture both steady-state process pressure and fast transient pressure events, such as pump start-up spikes or valve-closure surges. The integral Min./Max. function automatically logs and retains peak and trough readings without operator intervention, while the built-in logger function can record up to 50 measured values per second for detailed post-analysis. Because the sensing element and display electronics are fully sealed and digitally referenced, the CPG1500 eliminates the parallax reading error, needle sticking, and mechanical fatigue that limit conventional Bourdon-tube analogue gauges over repeated use.
Engineering Design of the WIKA CPG1500
Physically, the WIKA CPG1500 is built into a robust nickel-plated aluminium die-cast case in an analogue-gauge style, with an IP65 rating and a case that can be rotated by 330 degrees. The high-contrast digital display combines a large primary numeric readout with an integral analogue-style bar graph, giving technicians both the precise digital value and an at-a-glance trend indication during dynamic pressure tests. An intrinsically safe version is available for use in hazardous area calibration work, extending the instrument’s reach into refinery units, gas metering skids, and offshore platforms where standard electronic test equipment is restricted.
Communication is handled via Bluetooth®, allowing the CPG1500 to pair wirelessly with WIKA-Cal calibration software for automated data logging, certificate generation, and calibration record management without cabling the instrument to a laptop on-site. An energy-saving sleep mode extends battery life up to 2,500 hours, reducing the frequency of battery changes during extended field calibration campaigns. The instrument accepts standard WIKA hand pump accessories, including the CPP1000 hydraulic hand spindle pump and CPP30 pneumatic hand test pump, enabling a complete self-contained pressure calibration kit for on-site verification work.

Accuracy by Pressure Type
The manufacturer specifies the CPG1500 accuracy by pressure type and range. For gauge pressure, 0.025 % FS applies to 1 … 1,000 bar, 0.05 % FS is also offered, 0.1 % FS covers 1 … 2,500 bar and 0.5 % FS applies to 4,000 … 10,000 bar. Absolute ranges of 1 … 40 bar abs. and vacuum or ± ranges are available with 0.025 %, 0.05 % or 0.1 % FS. The 0.025 % FS and 0.05 % FS figures refer to a measuring rate of 3 values per second.
Accuracy is stated as total measurement uncertainty with coverage factor k = 2, including long-term stability and temperature effects over the compensated range of -10 … +50 °C. Reference conditions follow IEC 61298-1, at 15 … 25 °C, and the instrument is calibrated in a vertical mounting position with the process connection facing downwards. WIKA recommends a calibration interval of 1 year, depending on conditions of use.
Hazardous Area Approvals
WIKA offers an intrinsically safe version of the CPG1500 as an optional approval. The data sheet lists ATEX markings II 1G Ex ia IIC T4 Ga, II 1/2G Ex ia IIC T4 Ga/Gb and II 2G Ex ia IIC T4 Gb, with T4 valid at -10 … +50 °C. IECEx and EAC versions are also listed, and the IECEx option adds Zone 2 (Ex ia IIC T4 Gc).
For North America the data sheet lists CSA (up to 6,000 bar [85,000 psi]) for Class I, Zone 0 and Division 1, Groups A, B, C and D at T4. Only approved models may be used in hazardous areas, and only an approved protective case cap may be fitted. The recommended hand test pumps and service cases are not approved for use in hazardous areas, so check the approval of the complete set-up.

Where WIKA instruments are used
WIKA pressure gauges and thermometers give local indication on pumps, vessels, headers and skids in refineries, gas plants, power stations, water treatment and machine building throughout the GCC. Stainless steel gauges such as the 232.50 are specified for corrosive atmospheres and process media, and liquid filling is chosen where vibration or pulsation is present. Transmitters and resistance thermometers feed the control system.Ordering WIKA instruments: what we need
For WIKA pressure gauges send the model, nominal size (for example 63, 100 or 160 mm), scale range and unit, process connection thread and its position (lower or back mount), wetted material and any filling, and accessories such as a diaphragm seal or contacts. For thermometers and probes add stem or insertion length, stem diameter, sensor type and class, and thermowell details. A photo of the dial and of the label on the case usually answers most of these points.Browse WIKA products by category: Pressure Instrumentation, Temperature Instrumentation.
