The Migatronic CenTIG 300 DC is a portable three-phase TIG welding machine for DC TIG and MMA (stick) welding, rated 300 A at 60% duty cycle and 270 A at 100% at 40 °C. Control panel, pulse and tack functions

All settings are reached from a single dial with two soft keys and an LED display; active functions are shown in a status bar and can be switched on or off with a long press. The software includes pulse TIG for lower heat input on thin stainless steel, a tack weld mode with a set time so that each tack is identical (TIG-A-TACK and TIG-REP-TACK), 2T/4T trigger modes, job memory for recalling settings, and Intelligent Gas Control for monitoring gas flow during welding. Migatronic also states that the machine tolerates the supply fluctuations of generator power.

Gas-cooled or water-cooled configuration

The machine can be ordered gas-cooled or water-cooled, or upgraded in the field. The CenCOOL 1300 water module from the CenTIG 200, fitted with a 400 V pump for this model, attaches with a few screws and sits on the same two-wheel trolley. Water cooling is the usual choice for long arc-on times near the top of the current range, for example fill passes on thick-wall stainless pipe, while the gas-cooled unit alone suits site repair and short welds.

Migatronic CenTIG Pro

Migatronic builds the CenTIG Pro as a TIG machine for production welding in two sizes, 300 A and 400 A. Each size is made as a DC machine or an AC/DC machine, and with air or water cooling. The AC/DC versions are the ones for aluminum, and the manufacturer points to their AC waveform control. The machines also weld with stick electrodes (MMA) and run on a 3 x 400 V mains supply. Because several versions share one name, the exact version must be named when asking.
