A modular rail carriage for welding, cutting and gouging
The Promotech RAIL TITAN 2 is a rack-and-pinion tractor that runs on rigid, semi-flexible, Hi-Flex or ring tracks and can be configured for TIG and MIG/MAG welding, oxy-fuel or plasma cutting and gouging on flat or curved plate, tube and pipe. Its signal connections are designed for HF immunity, so it can carry a TIG torch, and its built-in linear oscillator produces straight, triangle, trapezoid and square weld paths.
Tracks fixed with magnetic units hold it on carbon steel; a vacuum track system with pump and vacuum units fixes it on stainless steel and aluminium. Because the drive is rack-and-pinion rather than friction, it works in all positions, including vertical and overhead.

Weld paths and operator controls
Trapezoid mode keeps the tractor moving during dwell, square mode moves it only during dwell, triangle mode moves it only while weaving and straight mode switches oscillation off. Adjustments are made from a remote pendant with three rotary function knobs, so the welder does not need to lift the helmet, and a mirror switch reverses left-right torch correction depending on which side of the joint the operator stands. Stitch paths can be programmed.
An optional seam-tracking attachment CZJ-0654-05-00-00-0 with motorised vertical slide OSK-0654-04-00-00-0 corrects torch position horizontally and vertically, with or without oscillation, using interchangeable sensor tips.
Track selection
Rigid 2 m tracks suit straight seams and running off the workpiece edge; semi-flexible 2 m tracks bend to a 5 m radius without permanent deformation; Hi-Flex tracks wrap vessels from 1.5 m OD; ring tracks fit pipes from 200 mm to 3 m OD and can be supported on bolts, magnets or plastic feet. Magnetic, heat-resistant, pivoting and spacing-adjustable units mount the tracks. The standard set includes the pendant, three signal cables, power cord, 6.5 m arc-ignition cable, 300 mm rod and rack, clamping block, torch holder, cable anchor and contact block.
