The Gullco Battery MOGGY GM-05-100 is a battery-powered version of the MOGGY trackless welding carriage. A 28.8 V lithium-ion pack replaces the mains supply cable, so there is one less cable on the deck and the carriage works where a supply of 50 V or less is mandatory for safety. It automates horizontal fillet, lap and butt welds in continuous or stitch mode.

Cable-free carriage for low-voltage sites

Shipyards, tanks and confined spaces often restrict mains-voltage equipment near the work. Running from a 28.8 V battery keeps the GM-05-100 within those limits. Gullco quotes about nine hours of battery life in standard welding, based on 14 in/min travel, and a full charge from empty in 1 h 30 min through a plug on the carriage. The pack is protected against debris and against overcharge, over-discharge, short circuit and over-temperature, and a battery gauge is visible during operation.

Guidance and control match the standard MOGGY: adjustable guide wheels or 6 in V-groove track, microprocessor stitch control with weld-on and weld-off distances, forward/stop/reverse, speed potentiometer, automatic wire feed start with delayed carriage start, a step-back function, and a 15 ft wire feed control cable.

Battery MOGGY family

Gullco offers four battery models: GM-05-100 standard carriage, GM-05-200 dual torch carriage, GM-05-300 magnetic base and GM-05-400 dual torch magnetic base. For multi-shift work, plan charging around the run time: one carriage with a charged pack covers most of a shift at moderate speeds, and higher travel speeds shorten the time between charges. The wire feeder and welding power source still need their own supplies; only the carriage drive is battery powered.
