The Pemamek PEMA SPSi 5000 is the mid-range Skyhook PRO positioner for work that is too large for a hand-turned fixture and too varied for a dedicated jig. It takes 5,000 kg on a 1,100 mm table plate with four M20 T-slots, rotates at 0.05 to 1 rpm and tilts at 0.1 to 0.75 rpm, and the tilting axle height moves between 1,200 and 2,200 mm in about 50 seconds. Typical loads are pressure-vessel heads and sections, equipment skids, structural nodes, large flanged assemblies and machine frames.

Pemamek describes the Skyhook PRO as a positioner for demanding tasks with heavy workpieces of complex geometry. Pemamek describes the PRO features as giving always-correct welding and assembly positions through simulated movements. The positioner is supplied with the durable wired RC32H remote control; the PRO application runs in a web browser over WiFi on a phone, tablet or laptop and covers programming of the positioner, machine diagnostics, a maintenance log and note-taking.

Using the load diagrams

Two diagrams define the real capacity. The rotation diagram plots workpiece mass against the distance from the table-plate rotation axis to the centre of gravity, up to 100 cm, at the 6,000 Nm limit; the tilting diagram plots mass against the distance from the table surface to the centre of gravity, up to 180 cm, at the 10,000 Nm limit. Always check a candidate workpiece against both diagrams, because a part can pass one limit and fail the other.

Rotation diameter of 3,800 mm and a 500 mm offset distance suit wide, low parts as well as taller assemblies. The integrated grounding path carries up to 1,400 A, which suits submerged-arc and high-current MIG heads that would otherwise damage bearings if the return current used the rotation system. Ordering and what to confirm before ordering

The datasheet identifies the model by name only, so a quotation is built from the specification. Prepare the heaviest workpiece mass and its centre-of-gravity distances from both reference points, the largest rotating diameter, whether the part will be welded with arc or submerged-arc equipment, the 400 V 50 Hz supply, and the optional tablet, foot pedal, external rotation control or wireless remote.
