Pfannenberg PWS 7332 230V Air/Water Heat Exchanger, 3150 W
Description
PWS 7332 230V air/water heat exchanger: decoded part number
The PWS 7332 230V is a mid-size air/water heat exchanger that removes up to 3150 W from a sealed cabinet using a cooling-water circuit. It suits drive and power-electronics panels where the heat load is too large for filterfans and where a water loop is already provided.
Decoded: PWS = side-mounted air/water heat exchanger, 7332 = 3150 W model, 230V = 230 V single-phase. The order number is 12053010055; the 115 V 60 Hz twin is 12053017055. The 7332 shares a sheet with the 1500 W PWS 7152.

How the PWS 7332 230V works
A fan inside the unit pulls hot cabinet air across a finned copper coil, and a water flow of 200 l/h at 10 °C inlet removes the heat. At the stated conditions (W10/A35) the capacity is 3150 W, which is more than three times the capacity of the PWS 7102.
The thermostat-controlled solenoid valve opens only when the setpoint is exceeded, with the factory setting at +35 °C and an adjustable range of +8 °C to +50 °C. A temperature monitor with an alarm contact signals faults.
Airflow inside the cabinet is 1670 m³/h free flow, so the unit moves a large volume of air; leave clear paths in front of the inlet and outlet.
Fit in the system and related Pfannenberg parts
It belongs to the PWS 7000 range, which is cut-out compatible within pairs of performance classes. In practice the PWS 7152 and 7332 share a sheet, and the 7502 and 7702 carry the high end.
- 115 V 60 Hz twin: article 12053017055
- PWS 7152 (1500 W) 230 V: article 12051510055
- PWS 7502 (5200 W) 230 V: article 12055010055 for larger loads
- IP65 on request is listed for the large 7502 and 7702 models, not for this one
Selection and ordering checklist for the PWS 7332 230V
Before ordering the PWS 7332 230V, settle the following points so that the right variant is quoted:
- Cabinet heat load below 3150 W at the real water temperature
- Water flow of 200 l/h at up to +35 °C and 10 bar
- 230 V 1~ supply with a T 6 A fuse
- Space for a 950 mm tall housing, 190 mm deep
- Inner or outer mounting
Installation, commissioning and maintenance of the PWS 7332 230V
The unit weighs about 21 kg, so lift with two persons or a hoist. Seal the cut-out with the supplied mounting seal, connect the hose nozzles to the water lines through shut-off valves, and fill and vent before starting the fan.
Check that the alarm contact is wired to the control system and test it by shutting the water off for a short time and observing the alarm.
- Check hose clamps for leakage every six months
- Clean the coil and check the condensate drain
- Flush or filter the water circuit if scale is expected
- Verify the thermostat setpoint after maintenance
Typical applications in Oman and the GCC
A 3 kW water-cooled unit is suited to variable-speed drive cabinets, soft-starter panels and rectifier cabinets in compressor houses, pumping stations and desalination plants where a chilled-water or process-cooling loop is at hand.
Because the heat leaves in the water, high ambient temperatures in the plant room do not reduce the capacity as they do for air-cooled compressor units, provided the water inlet temperature stays within +35 °C.

Site conditions in Oman for the PWS 7332 230V
Panel cooling in Oman is sized for the worst case, not the average day. Summer shade temperatures in Muscat, Sohar and the interior regularly pass 45 °C, and a cabinet standing in direct sun gains further heat through its walls. When you size the PWS 7332 230V, add the internal losses of drives, power supplies and PLCs to the solar and wall gain, and compare the total with the useful cooling capacity at your real ambient and target cabinet temperature, rather than with a nominal figure stated at milder test conditions.
Coastal sites near Duqm, Salalah or Sur also bring humidity and salt-laden dust. Keep door seals intact, route the condensate drain away from live parts, and plan routine filter and coil cleaning so that the PWS 7332 230V keeps its rated performance through the long summer season.

About brand
Pfannenberg is the German maker of thermal management and signalling products for electrical enclosures and industry: filter fans, cooling units, air-to-water heat exchangers, chillers, heaters, sirens and beacons. Otto Pfannenberg, an electrical engineer, founded the company in Hamburg in 1954, and in 1958 he invented the filter fan to stop components in control cabinets from overheating. Pfannenberg is still family-owned and headquartered in Hamburg.
