Rosemount 2051 Pressure Transmitter

Description

Overview

The Rosemount 2051 is Emerson’s coplanar pressure transmitter platform for differential, gage and absolute pressure measurement. The official product data sheet describes it as the foundation of reliable measurement, with an extensive offering of integrated differential pressure flow meters, liquid level assemblies, instrument manifolds and flanges built on the same transmitter. Accuracy reaches 0.05 percent of span with the high accuracy option, and the platform is available in 4 to 20 mA HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, PROFIBUS PA and WirelessHART protocols, with SIL 2/3 certification available on the full 4 to 20 mA HART offering.

As a supplier of Rosemount products in Oman and the GCC, Seven Star LLC supplies the Rosemount 2051 Pressure Transmitter with the Rosemount 2051 datasheet and regional technical backing. Plants in Muscat, Sohar and Salalah can specify the transmitter alone or combined with a manifold, a 1199 diaphragm seal or a primary flow element and receive a correctly assembled unit.

Measurement Principle

The Rosemount 2051 senses pressure through isolating diaphragms that transmit process pressure to a fill-fluid-filled sensor. In the coplanar design, the high and low side process connections lie in the same plane, which allows direct mounting to manifolds, seals and primary elements. Differential versions compare two pressures and are used for flow and level inference, while gage and absolute versions compare the process to atmosphere or to a vacuum reference. The sensor signal is digitized and corrected in the electronics, which then drive the analog output or the digital protocol and update the reading 22 times per second.

The range structure of the Rosemount 2051C runs from range 1, covering –25 to 25 inH2O (–62.2 to 62.2 mbar), to range 5 at –2000 to 2000 psi (–137.9 to 137.9 bar). In-line 2051T and 2051G versions cover ranges up to 10,000 psi (689.5 bar) on the 2051T. Total response time is 100 ms on the in-line models and 115 to 270 ms on the coplanar models for HART, and users can add damping from 0 to 60 seconds for one time constant on the analog output.

Engineering Design of the Rosemount 2051

Transmitter flanges are available in plated carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy C-276, with 316L stainless steel, alloy C-276, tantalum or gold-plated 316L diaphragms and glass-filled or graphite-filled PTFE O-rings. Silicone or inert sensor fill fluids are offered. Housings come in aluminum, ultra low copper aluminum and stainless steel with ½-14 NPT, M20 or G½ conduit entries, and the wireless version uses an engineered polymer housing. The stated ambient limits are –40 to 85 °C, or –40 to 80 °C with an LCD display, and the unit requires 10.5 to 42.4 Vdc on the wired versions.

The design also supports factory assembly. Option codes allow the Rosemount 2051 to be delivered assembled to a Rosemount 305 integral manifold, a 304 manifold, a 405 compact orifice plate, an Annubar averaging pitot tube, a 1195 integral orifice or one or two 1199 seals. Newly shipped devices carry a QR code asset tag that opens serialized drawings, diagrams and troubleshooting information in a MyEmerson account, which shortens repair time and removes the need to transcribe nameplates.

Industrial Applications

The Rosemount 2051 is a general-purpose workhorse for liquid, gas and vapor service. Typical applications include tank and vessel pressure, filter and strainer differential pressure, orifice-based flow measurement, hydrostatic level in open and closed tanks, and pump and compressor monitoring. The 2051CF integrated flow meters arrive fully assembled and leak tested, reducing straight pipe requirements and permanent pressure loss in small line sizes, while the 2051L level transmitter connects to virtually any process through flanged diaphragms and capillary systems. In Oman these jobs occur across oil and gas production, desalination, power and water utilities and the process industries near Sohar and Salalah.

In Oman and the GCC, Seven Star LLC supplies the Rosemount 2051 to operators, EPC contractors and instrumentation maintenance teams across Oman and the wider GCC. For higher-end pressure and level options, review the Rosemount 3051 Coplanar pressure transmitter, the Rosemount 2088 gauge and absolute pressure transmitter and the Rosemount 3051SAL liquid level transmitter.

About brand
The Rosemount 3051 is one of the most frequently specified pressure transmitters in process plants, and it sits at the center of this listing. Rosemount, a measurement brand that dates from 1956 and has its home in Shakopee, USA, covers pressure, temperature, level and flow with instruments identified by a model string on the nameplate. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier listing Rosemount pressure transmitters, level instruments, temperature transmitters, flowmeters and analytical sensors for sites in Oman and the GCC.

Rosemount product families on this page

Pressure includes the 3051 in its variants (3051T in-line, 3051L for liquid level, 3051CF DP flowmeter and the 3051SMV MultiVariable transmitter), the 2051 and 1199 diaphragm seal systems. Level instruments are the 3300 guided wave radar, the 5408 non-contacting radar and the 2120 vibrating fork switch. Temperature is covered by the 248 and 644 head mount transmitters and the 848T high density transmitter for multiple sensor inputs. The 8800D vortex flowmeter and the 702 wireless discrete transmitter are also listed, along with liquid analysis sensors.

Where Rosemount instruments are used

These are standard instruments in oil and gas production, refining, petrochemical, power and water plants. Typical duties are line and vessel pressure, differential pressure flow across orifice plates, tank and separator level and interface, and temperature measurement on pipes, reactors and rotating equipment.

Ordering Rosemount transmitters: what we need

Send the complete model string and the serial number from the nameplate; a photo is ideal. Every character of the string selects something: range, output, materials of the isolating diaphragm and flange, process connection, housing, approval and options. If you are specifying a new point, give the measured variable and span, process fluid, pressure and temperature, connection, output (4-20 mA HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus or wireless), display and hazardous area approval. For remote seals add flange size, rating and capillary length.
