Measurement Principle

At the core of every Druck UNIK 5000 sensor is a micromachined silicon piezoresistive sensing element. Applied pressure deflects a thin silicon diaphragm, straining an integrated Wheatstone bridge whose resistive elements are diffused directly into the silicon crystal. This strain unbalances the bridge and produces an output voltage proportional to the applied pressure, with the silicon geometry precisely controlled during manufacture to deliver highly repeatable, linear behaviour across the full working range.
