Trafimet ERGOPLUS 36 Gas-Cooled MIG Torch

A gas-cooled MIG torch with a detachable pistol grip

The Trafimet ERGOPLUS 36 is a gas-cooled MIG/MAG torch from the Italian manufacturer’s ERGOPLUS line. It is made for wire diameters from 0.6 mm to 1.6 mm, conforms to EN 60974-7 and connects to the wire feeder through a EURO connector.

The handle is made of rubber and plastic with rubber textures where the hand holds it. A detachable pistol grip is supplied as standard and the trigger is a sealed microswitch.

Spare parts and consumables

The technical sheet lists the torch head MF1519, trigger kit MT0562/MT0563, pistol grip MT0566 and a coaxial cable for each length. For the machine end it lists a EURO back box kit, a metal EURO nut and an air EURO connector.

Standard consumables are a quick-release nozzle, an M8 CuCrZr contact tip (MD0005-82 for 1.2 mm wire), an M8 brass tip holder and a ceramic gas diffuser. Liners are chosen by length and wire size.

Choosing length and consumables

Pick the cable length needed at the workstation; a longer assembly reaches further but adds weight and wire-feed resistance. Confirm that the wire feeder has a EURO socket, then match the liner and contact tip to the wire diameter and material. Current rating and duty cycle depend on the shielding gas and are confirmed from the Trafimet sheet for the ordered code at quotation.
