DINSE MQZ 304.neo Liquid-Cooled MIG/MAG Torch

Description

A 500 A liquid-cooled MIG/MAG torch set with a ball joint

The DINSE MQZ 304.neo is a liquid-cooled manual MIG/MAG torch set from the DINSE neo series, rated at 500 A with CO2 and 450 A with mixed gas at 60% duty cycle (DIN EN 60974-7). It takes 0.8 to 1.6 mm wire and is used on unalloyed, low-alloy and high-alloy steels, aluminium, magnesium and nickel alloys, and for MIG brazing of copper alloys.

The neo series combines the DINSE dual-circuit liquid-cooled neck with a ball joint at the handle and a flexible cover hose. The joint moves in all directions with little rotational resistance, which reduces wrist strain in constrained positions and on long welding sessions. A separate shield gas hose runs through the set, so gas is not lost along the cable.

Choosing the connector version

DINSE builds the set in three machine-side versions with lengths of 3, 4 or 5 m. The catalogue lists a standard version, an SAZ version and an N version; the SAZ set is the one illustrated with the Euro connector, and N sets need a Power Pin or Power Pin Set that matches the wire feeder, which DINSE lists in its tools and accessories chapter. Contact tips are ordered by wire size by filling in the diameter in the part name, for example 3-2-1.2 M8 for 1.2 mm wire. CR-ZR tips are the harder alternative for high current and long arc times.

When specifying a set, state the plug on the wire feeder rather than only the machine brand, because the same brand can be fitted with different torch sockets. DINSE also notes that variants deviating from the standard fittings are available on request.

Where the MQZ 304.neo fits

Within the neo series the MQZ 304.neo sits between the MQZ 330.neo (400 A CO2) and the MQZ 305.neo and 306.neo (550 A CO2, 1.2 to 2.0 mm wire). It suits heavy steel construction and continuous production where gas-cooled torches would overheat. Users who prefer a conventional handle without the ball joint can compare it with the DINSE MZ 304.PLUS liquid-cooled torch. As with any liquid-cooled torch, coolant circulation must be running before welding.

About brand

DINSE, headquartered in Norderstedt near Hamburg, Germany, develops and manufactures welding torches and systems for manual, robotic and automated welding. The company is widely known for the DINSE coupling, the cable connector found on many welding machines, and for its DIX range of torches, wear parts and wire feeding systems. DINSE works to a quality management system certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list the DIX MZ 304.PLUS liquid-cooled MIG/MAG torch and source DINSE torches, connectors and wear parts on request.

DINSE product groups

The manual welding range covers gas-cooled and liquid-cooled MIG/MAG torches, including the PlusLine handles for the 304 and 330 series, push-pull torches and fume extraction torches. For automated welding the manufacturer offers robot torches, TIG automation and laser wire feeding. Further groups are plugs and sockets, wire feeding systems such as drum feeders, and spare and wear parts.

Ordering DINSE torches and wear parts: what we need

State the full torch designation, the cable assembly length, the cooling type and the machine-side connection on your wire feeder, either DINSE or Euro connector. Add the wire diameter and material, since liner and contact tip depend on them. For wear parts, send the DIX part name or part number, or a photo of the old part with the torch type.
