Brand:

DINSE MS 340 C Gas-Cooled MIG/MAG Torch

Description

A cost-effective gas-cooled torch for up to 350 A

The DINSE MS 340 C is a gas-cooled MIG/MAG torch set from the DINSE 340 C series, which DINSE positions as its best price-to-performance manual torch. To DIN EN 60974-7 it is rated 350 A with CO2 and 300 A with mixed gas at 60% duty cycle, for 1.0 to 1.2 mm wire. A coaxial cable design, a flexible supply hose and a slim torch head give good access to joints in all positions.

The series comes with three handle styles: MS, MG and MC. The remote-control MF 340 C variant is also available with up to two potentiometers or a display.

Design details that matter in service

The 340 C uses a gas nozzle with a rugged trapezoidal thread, a recessed contact tip for good gas coverage and a tip adapter designed for laminar gas flow, which reduces gas consumption. The switch can be replaced without tools, and the torch is described as assembly and repair friendly, so worn parts can be changed at the workstation.

On the MF 340 C, the remote control has five versions: 2 buttons, 4 buttons, 2 buttons with display, 1 potentiometer and 2 potentiometers. These let the welder adjust wire feed and voltage or recall stored programs, provided the power source supports it.

Selection notes

The 340 C suits general steel fabrication at medium currents without a cooler. Where welders work long hours in forced postures, a ball-joint torch such as the PlusLine range, including the liquid-cooled MZ 304.PLUS, reduces strain. Confirm the connector type before ordering, since standard 340 C sets are Euro-terminated.

Liners for the 340 C are DIX DSC 4.5/2.2 in 3.3, 4.4 and 5.5 m lengths to match each torch set. Variants with fittings other than the standard set can be requested from DINSE. When fitting a new liner, cut it to the correct length with the neck installed, because a liner that is too short leaves a gap that catches the wire and causes erratic feeding.

Because the gas-cooled 340 C has no coolant lines, the hose package is lighter and simpler to route than on liquid-cooled torches, which also makes it easier to move between welding stations.

The coaxial cable carries current and shielding gas in one package, which keeps the hose diameter small and helps the torch move freely around tight joints and fixtures.

About brand

DINSE, headquartered in Norderstedt near Hamburg, Germany, develops and manufactures welding torches and systems for manual, robotic and automated welding. The company is widely known for the DINSE coupling, the cable connector found on many welding machines, and for its DIX range of torches, wear parts and wire feeding systems. DINSE works to a quality management system certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list the DIX MZ 304.PLUS liquid-cooled MIG/MAG torch and source DINSE torches, connectors and wear parts on request.

DINSE product groups

The manual welding range covers gas-cooled and liquid-cooled MIG/MAG torches, including the PlusLine handles for the 304 and 330 series, push-pull torches and fume extraction torches. For automated welding the manufacturer offers robot torches, TIG automation and laser wire feeding. Further groups are plugs and sockets, wire feeding systems such as drum feeders, and spare and wear parts.

Ordering DINSE torches and wear parts: what we need

State the full torch designation, the cable assembly length, the cooling type and the machine-side connection on your wire feeder, either DINSE or Euro connector. Add the wire diameter and material, since liner and contact tip depend on them. For wear parts, send the DIX part name or part number, or a photo of the old part with the torch type.
