Brand: Bernard
Bernard S-Gun Steel Monocoil Air-Cooled MIG Gun
Description
Air-cooled MIG gun with a steel monocoil cable for long runs
The Bernard S-Gun is a semi-automatic, air-cooled MIG gun with a steel monocoil inner tube. Bernard says the monocoil gives extra structural integrity and pinch resistance, which helps keep gas flow and wire feeding reliable on longer cables that are looped or pulled around corners. The sheet lists the S250, S350 and S450 models, cable lengths of 15, 20 and 25 ft, and applications that include commercial truck and trailer, heavy equipment, general manufacturing and fabrication, pipeline, rail and ship.

Why the monocoil cable matters
A conventional liner can kink when a gun cable is pulled tight around a corner or dragged across a floor, and a kinked liner interrupts the wire feed. The steel monocoil construction is meant for long-cable work, which the sheet ties to applications such as rail and ship, where the welder may be far from the feeder. The sheet specifically calls it ideal for longer cables that are frequently looped or stretched around corners to the point of pinching. Wire feedability is the point of the design, together with reliable shielding gas flow through the cable.
Selecting the S-Gun configuration
Choose the cable length first, since the 25 ft option reaches furthest from the feeder, then the handle: the small curved O series suits tight access and the straight T series suits a conventional grip. Choose a fixed neck for repeatable access or a rotatable neck when the angle changes during the job. Keep wire diameter within 0.030 to 5/64 in. Note that the model names S250, S350 and S450 sit alongside the rated outputs of 250, 300 and 400 A on the sheet, so confirm the exact model with Bernard when ordering a specific rating.
Bernard also states that the configurable mix of neck, handle and trigger options with AccuLock S consumables simplifies maintenance and inventory costs. The aluminium armoured neck is described as withstanding abuse while giving outstanding heat dissipation, which matters on a gun rated at 60 % duty with mixed gases.
For replacement work, Bernard points to an online gun configurator and a replacement parts list for the S-Gun. Quote the existing model, cable length, handle and neck type in the enquiry so that the liner and consumables can be confirmed before supply, and state the wire diameter in use.

About brand
Bernard is a manufacturer of semi-automatic MIG welding guns and consumables, based in Beecher, Illinois. Arthur A. Bernard founded the company in 1947 as Engineered Welding Products in Chicago, and it took the name Bernard Welding in 1963; it is now part of ITW Welding. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists Bernard MIG guns and sources Bernard guns and consumables for fabricators and pipe welding contractors.
Bernard product groups
The range covers semi-automatic air-cooled guns such as BTB, TGX, S-Gun and PipeWorx, water-cooled T-Gun and W-Gun models, fume extraction guns, the IronPro self-shielded flux-cored gun, and the AccuLock, Centerfire and TOUGH LOCK consumables, liners and necks that go with them. Bernard lists offshore oil and gas, construction and infrastructure, heavy equipment, rail and ship among the industries it serves.
Ordering Bernard guns: what we need
Give the gun model, amperage, cable length, handle and neck style, wire type and diameter, and the feeder connection. For consumables state the consumable family, such as AccuLock S or Centerfire, and the contact tip and nozzle sizes.
