Description
Controller for diesel-driven fire pumps to EN 12845
The FFL700DP is a diesel engine fire pump controller from Lovato Electric, built to the requirements of EN 12845 according to the catalogue. Auxiliary supply is 12/24VDC (operating range 7.5-33VDC), and it has 10 digital inputs and 10 relay outputs for start commands, alarms and status.
For the diesel version the controller reads battery voltage, engine speed from a pick-up or W input, an NTC temperature probe (Lovato code NTC01) and the D+ terminal of a pre-excited alternator, so it can crank, monitor and stop the engine according to the fire pump sequence.

FFL700 is the non-expandable version; FFL800 adds EXP expansion modules. Choose by the number of inputs and outputs the panel needs.

Lovato order codes describe the product. On a contactor such as BF0910A230, "BF09" is the frame and rated current (9 A in AC-3), "10" is the built-in auxiliary contact (one normally open), "A" means an AC coil and "230" is the coil voltage. The coil voltage must match the control circuit exactly, so it is the most common detail to check when replacing one. For motors, a soft starter limits the inrush current at start and stop, while a variable speed drive controls the speed continuously and saves energy on pumps and fans that do not need full flow all the time.
