Lovato ADXL0030600 30 A Soft Starter with Built-in Bypass
Description
A 30 A soft starter with bypass and smartphone set-up
The ADXL0030600 is a soft starter from the Lovato Electric ADXL series, rated for a starter current of 30 A on three-phase supplies from 208 to 600 V AC. It controls two phases, includes a built-in bypass relay and is programmed from a backlit icon LCD or from a smartphone over NFC, even when the starter is not powered. It suits pumps, fans, compressors and conveyors where a smooth start and stop reduces mechanical and electrical stress compared with direct-on-line starting.
The unit offers torque ramp, voltage ramp and constant torque starting, each combined with an adjustable current limit, and torque ramp, voltage ramp or free-wheel stopping. Motor protection, supply monitoring and starter diagnostics are built in, so a separate overload relay is not needed for many applications. The table lists the values from the Lovato data sheet.

Protection and diagnostics
On the motor side the ADXL monitors overload at starting and during running with selectable trip classes, locked rotor, current asymmetry and minimum torque for dry-run detection. On the supply side it detects loss of supply, phase loss, phase sequence, frequency out of limits and minimum or maximum voltage. Starter faults reported include overcurrent, overtemperature, bypass failure, shorted phase, temperature sensor and cooling fan faults and a maintenance request.
Mounting and accessories
The soft starter is screw-fixed, or mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail with the optional EXP8003 kit. Cooling is natural, with a forced-cooling fan available as an option. Lovato lists the CX01 USB and CX02 Wi-Fi optical connectors for PC set-up and the EXC1042 board for RS485 communication. The data sheet table gives a weight of 2.1 kg while the logistics data gives 2180 g, so confirm the figure if packing weight matters.
