NAFFCO NFH-040A Fixed Automatic Fire Hose Reel

Description

A fixed automatic hose reel for building fire safety

The NAFFCO NFH-040A series is a red painted fixed-type automatic fire hose reel with semi-rigid hose. NAFFCO describes its hose reels as a firefighting facility with a continuous supply of water, available immediately, for use by the occupants of buildings and other construction works. The reels are made in manual and automatic versions to BS EN 671-1:2012, with semi-rigid hose to BS EN 694:2014.

On the automatic version the water flow starts as the hose is pulled out, and the valve opens fully within 3 revolutions of the reel. The reel discs are painted red with printed user instructions, and the nozzle has SHUT, JET and SPRAY settings.

Operation and mounting variants

For an automatic reel NAFFCO instructs the user to pull out the hose, after which water flows within 3 rotations, open the nozzle and adjust to spray or jet, aim at the base of the fire, then close the nozzle and rewind, making sure the hose does not overlap the side plates. The nozzle should be opened to drain the hose before closing it again.

The same catalogue lists the series in other mountings: cabinet mounted with swinging arm (NFH-020), wall mounted with swinging pipe (NFH-030) and fixed (NFH-040), each in manual and automatic versions and in brush or mirror finish stainless variants marked /SS. NAFFCO also lists a lock shield valve, NLSV-25, 1 inch BSPT female, PN 20 brass, for installation at the reel inlet where unauthorised operation must be avoided.

Selection and ordering

Choose 19 mm hose for space and weight, or 25 mm where the larger bore is specified by the project, and the -B rotary nozzle where the higher flow is needed. Also check the reel dimensions for the cabinet or wall bracket. More options are in fire fighting.

Please confirm the model code, hose diameter, nozzle type and the standard and approvals required by the local civil defence authority before ordering. The photo shows a fixed automatic reel with chrome rotary nozzle; confirm the exact code on the quotation. Send the model, quantity and delivery location for a quotation.

About brand

NAFFCO, founded in 1991 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, manufactures fire fighting equipment, from extinguishers and hose cabinets to pumps and riser valves. Seven Star LLC lists NAFFCO extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants and landing valves, among them two oblique landing valves to BS 5041, the NDR 097 with threaded inlet and the NDR 098 with flanged inlet, and supplies NAFFCO fire fighting products to contractors and building owners in Oman.

NAFFCO landing valves and riser equipment

A landing valve is the outlet on a wet riser where the fire service connects a hose on each floor. NAFFCO groups its landing valves into a Kitemark and LPCB approved line and a separate FM approved line, so the approval is tied to the model, not to the brand as a whole. The NDR 097 and NDR 098 differ in how they join the riser branch: screwed or bolted.

Ordering NAFFCO equipment: what we need

Send the NAFFCO model number, the inlet type and size, the outlet coupling standard, and the approval your consultant or civil defense authority asks for. Add the riser working pressure and the quantity per floor. For other items, the model number from the NAFFCO datasheet is the best reference. We receive the same data from GCC projects outside Oman.
