Small vessels and trapped liquid
The SFA 10 is used for smaller vessels and as protection against liquid expansion in isolated pipework, where a sealed line section warms and the trapped liquid would build pressure. It is also used on small receivers and oil pots, with its 65 bar working limit covering CO2 side of cascade systems if the set pressure is chosen accordingly.
Compared with the SFA 15, the SFA 10 has a flow area about a quarter as large (36.3 mm2 against 133 mm2), so its relieving capacity is lower; it is not a substitute for an SFA 15 on larger vessels, where the compressor capacity case governs.
Ordering and fitting notes
The valve is supplied set and sealed; do not alter the setting. Mount upright, ensure the discharge pipe is not smaller than the outlet and routes to a safe place, and protect from freezing of condensate in the outlet.
Confirm the set pressure (11 bar for this code), the thread type, and whether the DSV change-over valve version is needed (SFA 10/DSV has a different code). Check with your pressure-equipment standard whether a certificate of the type supplied is sufficient.

Choosing Danfoss products
For solenoid valves, check the operating principle. A direct-operated valve such as EV210B opens even at 0 bar differential pressure. A servo-operated valve such as EV220B needs a minimum differential (typically about 0.3 bar) to open, while an assisted-lift valve such as EV250B works from 0 bar. Coils are ordered separately, so the voltage on the coil (for example 230 V AC or 24 V DC) must match the control circuit. For drives, the VLT family is split by application: FC 51 Micro Drive for small machines, FC 102 HVAC Drive for fans and pumps in buildings, FC 202 AQUA Drive for water, and FC 302 AutomationDrive for demanding industrial duty.
