Description
EVR 10: a 1/2 in solder solenoid valve for liquid and suction lines
Danfoss 032L1188 is the EVR 10 valve with 1/2 in solder connections. The EVR data sheet describes the range as direct- or servo-operated valves suitable for liquid, suction and hot-gas lines with most refrigerants, including flammable refrigerants, with a media temperature up to 105 C. The EVR 10 belongs to the servo-operated group with a floating diaphragm.
This code is normally closed with a 10 mm orifice and Kv 2.2 m3/h. It has a manual operation option for service, and the store lists compatibility with mineral, alkylbenzene, PAG, PAO, POE and PVE lubricants. EVR valves and coils are sold separately.

Pressure limits and coil choice
The opening pressure differential that the valve can tolerate depends on the coil. With the 10 W AC coil or a BJ/BX coil the store gives 38 bar, while a 20 W DC coil gives 20 bar. The minimum differential for opening is only 0.03 bar, which allows use in low-pressure drops on liquid lines.
The valve is rated for 45.2 bar working pressure and sits in the PED category Article 4, paragraph 3. The refrigerant list includes R134a, R22, R125, R152a, R1234yf and R1234ze(E); UL approval covers R404A, R407A, R407C and other refrigerants as listed on the store page.
Brazing, installation and ordering
The extended solder ends mean the valve normally does not have to be dismantled when brazing, but follow the data sheet instructions and keep the body cool. Place the valve with the coil upright and ahead of the expansion valve, after a filter drier.

On a typical refrigeration rack the EVR 10 serves as a liquid-line shut-off to a single evaporator, or as a pump-down valve ahead of the expansion valve. In that service, fit a filter drier upstream and size the coil for the supply voltage of the control panel. If the plant uses a refrigerant not named here, check the data sheet and ask us before ordering.
The valve is also available in other connection sizes and in flare versions, each with its own code number.

Choosing Danfoss products
For solenoid valves, check the operating principle. A direct-operated valve such as EV210B opens even at 0 bar differential pressure. A servo-operated valve such as EV220B needs a minimum differential (typically about 0.3 bar) to open, while an assisted-lift valve such as EV250B works from 0 bar. Coils are ordered separately, so the voltage on the coil (for example 230 V AC or 24 V DC) must match the control circuit. For drives, the VLT family is split by application: FC 51 Micro Drive for small machines, FC 102 HVAC Drive for fans and pumps in buildings, FC 202 AQUA Drive for water, and FC 302 AutomationDrive for demanding industrial duty.
