Apollo 55000-122 Series 65 A1R Heat Detector
Description
A conventional rate-of-rise heat detector family
The Apollo 55000-122 is the Series 65 Heat Detector class A1R in its standard version. Series 65 heat detectors monitor temperature with a dual thermistor network, or a single thermistor on the CS versions, giving a voltage output proportional to the external air temperature. They are ideal for environments that are dirty or smoky under normal circumstances and can be used where smoke detectors are unsuitable.
In the dual-thermistor versions one thermistor is exposed and the other is thermally insulated. Under stable conditions both read the same, and when air temperature rises quickly the ratio of resistances is monitored and an alarm is initiated, which gives the rate-of-rise response. The datasheet also covers B, C and CS classes and flashing-LED versions, listed below.

Choosing the right class
The datasheet gives a selection path. Where the maximum ambient temperature is above 65 C, use the CS detector, or the CR where a sudden temperature increase is expected. Where the maximum temperature is above 50 C use the BR, and where sudden increases occur and the maximum is below 50 C use the A1R. A1R detectors are intended for normal indoor ambient conditions up to 50 C.
Each class is available as standard or with a flashing LED. The remote indicator output, the 17 mA sink, and the holding voltage and current figures are given for the control panel designer.
What to confirm before ordering
Confirm the class (A1R, BR, CR or CS) against maximum ambient temperature and rate-of-rise behaviour, the standard or flashing LED version, the base and the panel zone compatibility. Check which approvals apply to the exact part number, since the datasheet notes that not all detectors have all approvals.
This page uses the A1R standard part 55000-122 as the lead model with the other classes listed above as variants; quote the exact part number when requesting prices.

About brand
Apollo Fire Detectors is a British manufacturer of smoke, heat and multi-sensor fire detectors, interfaces and sounders, based in Havant, Hampshire. The company was incorporated in 1980 and joined the Halma group in 1984. Its detectors are designed and made in the UK and used with fire alarm panels from many independent panel makers in more than 100 countries.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Apollo detectors and loop devices for fire alarm contractors and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.

Ordering Apollo devices: what we need
Apollo identifies each device by a part number in the form 55000-000. Send that number, the range name printed on the device, the quantity and the make and model of your control panel. For detectors, state whether mounting bases are needed and which type; for hazardous areas, state the zone and the barrier or isolator in use.
Facts checked against UK Companies House records, Halma company history and trade press, October 2026.
