Simtronics detectors listed
The GD10P is an infrared point gas detector for hydrocarbon gas, built around a solid-state infrared source; a separate version measures carbon dioxide. It is listed here both as a series and under one full order code, GD10-P00-17DG-0XH-00, which shows how much of the configuration sits in the code. The third item is the DM-TV6-T, a flame detector that works on three infrared wavelengths. Newer documents also use the designation DF-TV7 for this detector family.
Ordering Simtronics GD10 and flame detectors: what we need
Send the complete order code from the nameplate; for a GD10P that is the long string with all its groups. The groups in the code fix the configuration of the detector, and two detectors with different codes are not automatically interchangeable. Add the serial number, the target gas, the hazardous area certification your site requires (ATEX or IECEx, for example) and the cable entry thread. How do I read a Simtronics GD10P order code?
The code is a chain of groups separated by hyphens, as in GD10-P00-17DG-0XH-00. The groups after GD10-P00 set the configuration of the individual detector, and a different group can mean a different gas, as with the carbon dioxide version. Copy the whole string from the nameplate. We decode it with the manufacturer's ordering table and confirm the result with you before quoting.
Is a GD10P a point detector or an open path detector?
The GD10P is a point detector. It measures gas concentration at the place where it is mounted, using infrared absorption. Open path detectors, which measure along a beam between two units, are a different product. If you are unsure which one is fitted, the nameplate and a photo of the unit will settle it.
Which approvals do Simtronics detectors carry?
Approvals depend on the exact version and are part of the order code. The manufacturer issues the hazardous area certificates that apply to each version. Tell us which scheme your site requires, and we request the matching certificate copies from the manufacturer's documentation so they can be reviewed before the order is placed.
