Application notes
The head is separate from the probe, so the same display and electronics can be paired with different TP probe lengths and process connections. The datasheet gives a switching-point accuracy of 0.2 K, a response time of 100 ms and a peak memory function. The housing rotates after the process connection is fitted and settings are readable without tools. Use it where a local readout and a PLC signal are both required. Switching cycles are listed as at least 100 million, vibration resistance as 20 g from 9 to 2000 Hz and shock resistance as 50 g, which supports mounting on pumps, skids and compressor lines. Ambient range is -40 to +80 C. The unit alone does not measure temperature; the TP probe, with its own length and process connection, completes the measuring point.
Installation hint: pair the unit with a suitable TP probe, fit the process connection first and rotate the housing afterwards for a readable display, and seal and torque the fittings as for any temperature point. Allow for the thermal mass of the probe when judging response time in a process.
Type code, ident number and checks
TS-500 is the series; the remaining elements describe the output configuration (current output plus PNP/NPN switching or IO-Link as in the datasheet title) and the M12 connector. Ident number 6840015 identifies this exact electronics unit, which connects to TP-series probes ordered separately.
Please check the output configuration and the measuring range required, the TP probe type and length that will be connected, and the process connection before you place an order. The figures above follow the manufacturer datasheet, and any later datasheet revision from the maker takes precedence.

About brand
Turck is the German automation company for sensors, connectivity, fieldbus I/O and interface technology. It grew from Hans Turck's engineering office in Mülheim an der Ruhr: in 1965 a chemical plant ordered an isolation amplifier for intrinsically safe circuits, and the first 20 units were built by his brother Werner Turck in Halver. The family-owned Turck group is still headquartered in Mülheim an der Ruhr, with production in Halver and other sites.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Turck sensors and I/O devices for machine builders and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.

Milestones
- 1965: An order from a German chemical plant for an amplifier module starts the business; Werner Turck builds the first 20 units.
- 1970: Hans Turck KG and Werner Turck KG are registered as separate companies.
- 1975: Hans Turck KG opens its building in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
- 1994: Turck Holding combines the two Turck companies under one roof.
Turck product series
Most of the Turck products here are inductive proximity sensors: threaded M12, M18 and M30 barrels in flush (BI) and non-flush (NI) versions, uprated-range (U) sensors, rectangular CP40 and CP80 housings and BIM magnetic-field sensors for detecting pistons in pneumatic cylinders. The type code describes the sensor; in BI5-M18-AP6X-H1141, BI means flush mounting, 5 is the switching distance in mm, AP6X a three-wire PNP output and H1141 the M12 connector.
Turck also makes RU ultrasonic sensors, PS pressure, TS temperature and LS level sensors, FCI inline flow sensors, the CMVT vibration and temperature sensor for condition monitoring over IO-Link, and fieldbus and Ethernet I/O modules and communication components.
Where Turck sensors are used
Position detection on conveyors, packaging machines, presses and robotic cells; level, pressure and temperature monitoring on hydraulic units and process skids; and vibration monitoring on motors, pumps and fans.
