GBC MINI K Portable Pipe Beveling Machine

Description

The GBC MINI K is a compact pipe beveling machine for tubes with an inside diameter of 20 to 42 mm (0.78–1.65 in). Its body is only 60 mm across, which lets it reach tube ends packed closely together in boilers, heat exchangers and skids during manufacture or retubing. It is available with pneumatic, electric or battery power, and the power unit is easily interchanged.

Compact tube beveling for boilers and heat exchangers

Boiler panels and tube bundles leave little room around each tube, so a narrow machine body is as important as cutting capacity. The MINI K uses a sturdy compact body and a chuck with four tool slots. The pneumatic version can be fitted with an optional automatic pneumatic locking device, which reduces locking and unlocking to a flick of a lever when many identical preparations are made in sequence.

Reduced shafts and elbow kits

Optional reduced shafts take the MINI K down to tubes with a 12.5 mm ID. GBC lists the following shafts and kits:

Option Locking range (ID)
Shaft Ø 12.4 12.5–15 mm
Shaft Ø 13.9 14–18 mm
Shaft Ø 16.9 17–21 mm
Complete reduced-shaft kit 12.5–21 mm
Elbow kit #02346 25–51 mm
Elbow kit #02347 26–39 mm
Elbow kit #02348 36–51 mm

With the elbow kits the machine can also prepare elbows and tees with IDs of 25–51 mm. Carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex and Inconel are among the materials GBC lists. Select the battery version for work away from air and mains supply, the electric version for higher spindle speed, and the pneumatic version with auto-locking for repetitive production.

In boiler and heat-exchanger retubing the usual work is a facing cut and a small bevel on many identical tube ends. Keeping a spare set of sharp tools and using the auto-locking option on the pneumatic model shortens the cycle per tube considerably.

About brand

G.B.C. Industrial Tools is an Italian manufacturer of machines for cutting and beveling metal pipes and plates, founded in 1981 by Bruno Giottoli. Since 2016 its operations have been centralised in a facility in Cazzago San Martino, near Brescia, where the machines are designed and built. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists the GBC SUPERMAXI 4_16 pipe beveling machine and sources GBC equipment for piping and fabrication work.

GBC product groups

The range includes portable pipe bevelers, pipe cutters, plate bevelers, flange facing machines, back-gouging grinders, stationary machines and special machines, together with pipe stands and pipe clamps. GBC names oil and gas, offshore, petrochemical and refining plants, pipelines, heat exchangers, shipbuilding and wind towers among the sectors it serves. Many models are offered with pneumatic, electric or hydraulic drive.

Ordering GBC machines: what we need

Give the model and drive, the pipe inside and outside diameters, the wall thickness and material, and the bevel geometry. Mention whether an extension kit, a hydraulic power pack or spare tools are needed, and send the GBC tool code for replacement tools.
