Overview

The MEDC SM87LED is a high-intensity explosion-proof LED beacon from the Crouse-Hinds series, certified Ex d IIC T6 Gb for use in Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas, with weatherproof IP66 and IP67 protection.

Combining long-life LED technology with certified flameproof construction, the SM87LED provides reliable visual alarm signalling in the most demanding offshore, marine, and industrial installations.

Engineering & Design

The beacon is built in either 316L stainless steel or LM25 marine-grade aluminium alloy, both corrosion resistant and lightweight for harsh environments. The glass lens is available in multiple colours with optional lens guards for additional mechanical protection.

Certified to ATEX (Baseefa 03ATEX0222), IECEx, UL, TR CU, INMETRO, and CQST schemes, the SM87LED can be initiated by telephone ringing tone or low-voltage control signals, and SIL 2 certification to IEC 61508 is available on selected versions.
