Brand:

Lenze EVS9324-ES 9300 Servo Inverter 3.0 kW

Description

3.0 kW 9300 servo inverter for 400 V supplies

For a 3 kW axis, the Lenze EVS9324-ES offers 7.0 A rated output current from a 3/PE 400 V supply. It is the servo inverter version of the 9300 series, for controlling servo motors through resolver or encoder feedback. This is a legacy item, since Lenze files the 9300 under previous products. Everything below follows the system manual EDSVS9332S EN 6.0, 07/2013 for the 9300 servo inverter; check availability and version levels first.

Operating data from the manual

Input power can be three-phase AC from 320 to 440 V (45 to 65 Hz) or DC from 450 to 620 V; the housing is IP20 (IP41 when mounted through the cabinet wall); motor cables up to 50 m work at 8 kHz without extra filtering; the document prints CE and cULus (File No. E132659) approvals.

Reading the type code EVS9324-ES

Decoded with the manual’s nameplate key: EVS (servo controller), 9324 (3.0 kW at 400 V), E (built-in design), S (servo inverter). No V suffix means the standard variant; V003, V004, V100 and V104 exist for cold plate, Safe Torque Off, IT mains and STO plus IT mains.

Interfaces and control capability

Per the control data, the controller provides 2 bipolar analog inputs, 2 analog outputs, 5 freely assignable digital inputs, 4 digital outputs and a controller-inhibit input, with 1 ms cycle times. Feedback comes through a 9-pole resolver input, a 500 kHz TTL incremental encoder input, a digital frequency input and a digital frequency output. Communication modules plug onto the AIF interface at X1; the manual lists LECOM-A/B, LECOM-B, LECOM-LI, LON, INTERBUS, INTERBUS Loop, PROFIBUS-DP and DeviceNet/CANopen modules.

Control accuracy per the manual: the switching frequency is 8 kHz or 16 kHz, digital setpoints are accurate to plus or minus 0.005 Hz, and analog setpoints have a linearity of plus or minus 0.15 percent with an offset of plus or minus 0.1 percent. Cycle times for inputs and outputs are 1 ms. The unit meets the protective measures listed for short circuit, earth fault, overvoltage and motor overtemperature, using a PTC or thermal contact input. These features apply to the 3.0 kW size as to the rest of the range.

Options the manual assigns to 9324

Accessory codes in the manual: choke EZN3A0500H007, category C1 filter EZN3B0500H007, chopper EMB9352-E, resistor ERBD068R800W, push-through kit EJ0037 (cutout 101 x 350 mm); shield kits EZZ0015 and EZZ0016. Derate the current by 2.5% per degree above +40 degrees C and by 5% for each 1000 m above 1000 m.

Documentation and quote requests

The attached Lenze system manual covers ratings, mounting, wiring and commissioning for the whole 93xx range up to 75 kW. For other drives see Servo Drives. Quote with the full part number, supply voltage, motor and feedback type, and whether Safe Torque Off or IT-mains operation is required.

About brand

Lenze is the German drive and automation company for machine building: frequency inverters, servo inverters, motors and gearboxes, controllers and engineering software. Its history begins on 5 November 1947, when Hans Lenze took over Stahlkontor GmbH in Hameln from the Mannesmann group. The group is led by Lenze SE, an unlisted European company based in Aerzen near Hameln, and the Lenze family owns all of its shares.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Lenze frequency and servo inverters, including current and earlier generations, for machine builders and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.

Milestones

  • 1947: Hans Lenze takes over Stahlkontor GmbH in Hameln on 5 November.
  • 1977: The first Lenze frequency inverter for three-phase AC motors is launched.
  • 1999: Lenze acquires AC Tech in the USA.
  • 2009: Lenze AG becomes Lenze SE.

Lenze product series

Current inverters on this site are the i500 family: the i510 compact frequency inverter, the i550 cabinet inverter and its i550 protec decentral version for mounting on the machine, and the i950 cabinet servo inverter. Earlier generations that are still widely installed are also listed: the 8400 StateLine C inverters (E84AVSC...), the 8200 vector frequency inverters (E82EV...) and the 9300 servo position controllers and servo inverters (EVS93...), including versions with Safe Torque Off.

Where Lenze drives are used

Conveyors and intralogistics, packaging and bottling lines, pumps and fans, hoists, textile and printing machines, and positioning axes on special machines. Many plants in the region keep 8200 vector and 9300 drives in service and need exact replacements or a planned migration to the i500 series.

Ordering Lenze inverters: what we need

Send the complete type code from the nameplate, for example E84AVSCE5524SX0, together with the supply voltage, motor power and current, the control interface or fieldbus module, and any options such as safety functions, keypad or brake resistor. When replacing an installed drive, keep the parameter set and wiring records, because a new unit or a successor model must be parameterised to match the machine.
