Lenze E82EV222K2C 8200 vector Frequency Inverter 2.2 kW 230 V
Description
2.2 kW frequency inverter, 230 V class
Sized for 2.2 kW, the Lenze E82EV222K2C turns a 1/N/PE or 3/PE 230 V supply into a variable-frequency motor feed of up to 650 Hz at 9.5 A rated current. It is one member of the Lenze 8200 vector series. Lenze classes the 8200 vector as a previous product. Treat the numbers below, taken from the 11/02 catalogue, as legacy data and ask for confirmation of stock status and revision before ordering.

Reading the type code E82EV222K2C
Read left to right, E82EV names the 8200 vector base controller, 222 the 2.2 kW motor size, and K2C the 230 V class of mains. Expect a suffix after this stem: a 0xx suffix includes the EMC filter, a 2xx suffix leaves it out. Ask for the one that matches your installation.
Sizing, accessories and mounting
For control terminals the catalogue pairs it with function module E82ZAFSC010, and offers the EMZ9371BC keypad as an extra. The continuous rating is 9.5 A, so compare it with the motor nameplate current before choosing this size. Output current falls to 6.2 A at a 16 kHz chopper frequency. The catalogue lists the mains choke ELN1-0250H018 as required for single-phase operation of this type. Two derating rules apply: minus 2.5% for every degree over +40 degrees C and minus 5% for every 1000 m over 1000 m altitude. The drive must stand upright with 100 mm of free space at the top and bottom.
Installation data from the catalogue: the motor cable may be 50 m shielded or 100 m unshielded at 8 kHz without extra output filters, subject to EMC conditions. The relay output switches 250 V AC at 3 A or 24 V DC at 2 A as a changeover contact, and an integrated brake transistor is included up to 11 kW, so only an external brake resistor is required for generator operation. Climatic class 3K3 to EN 50178, pollution degree 2 and vibration resistance up to 0.7 g (Germanischer Lloyd) are stated. A 2.2 kW drive stays within these limits.
Where it sits in the range
Within the 230 V group, the next size down is 1.5 kW (E82EV152K2C).
Typical applications for a 2.2 kW 8200 vector drive
A drive of this size is typically found on pumps, fans, conveyors, mixers, small hoisting and handling equipment and general machinery where a standard three-phase motor has to run at variable speed. Because the 8200 vector accepts both a single-phase and a three-phase 230 V class supply, it is often used in workshops and machine builds where only a single-phase supply is available, as well as in panels fed from a three-phase network. The DC feed option allows it to be integrated into systems with a common DC bus.
As the 8200 vector is a previous Lenze product, the most common reason to buy this type today is the replacement of an installed unit on an existing machine, where keeping the same type avoids changes to wiring, parameter sets and panel layout.
Selection checks before you order
Start with the motor nameplate: the rated motor current should fit within the continuous output current of the drive at the chopper frequency you intend to use. If a higher chopper frequency is needed for low motor noise, check the reduced current at that setting. Consider the overload profile of the load, since the maximum current is time-limited, and apply the temperature and altitude derating rules where the panel location requires it.
Next, confirm the supply. For single-phase operation the catalogue requires the listed mains choke, and the input current with choke is the relevant value for sizing protection and cabling. For three-phase supplies compare the input current with and without choke. Finally, choose the suffix described in the type code section according to the EMC requirements of your installation, and state it clearly in the order.
Installation and commissioning considerations
Mount the drive upright in a cabinet suitable for an IP20 device and keep the free space above and below it clear for cooling air. Use shielded motor cable where EMC conditions require it, and keep motor, mains and control cables separated. Check that the motor cable length stays within the catalogue limits for your chopper frequency.
Before the first start, compare the parameters with the motor data and the application, set the rotation direction and frequency limits, and check the relay output wiring against the control concept. If the drive replaces an existing unit, transfer the parameter set of the old drive where possible and verify the behaviour under load. Record the final settings in the machine documentation so that a later exchange can be carried out with the same configuration and without a long search for the original values.
How to specify your RFQ
Give the complete type code including the suffix, the nameplate data of the motor, the supply type and voltage, and whether the unit replaces an installed drive. Mention any function module or choke you also need from the catalogue so they can be included in the same request.
Documentation and quotation
Attached is the Lenze 8200 vector catalogue of November 2002, the source of every rating here; older editions can differ from the nameplate, so compare. Related drives are listed under AC Drives. To get a price, tell us the exact code with its suffix, the supply voltage and the motor data, and let us confirm availability first.

About brand
Lenze is a German company for drive and automation technology for machine building, founded in 1947 and headquartered in Aerzen, Lower Saxony. Its portfolio runs from frequency inverters, servo inverters and motors to controllers, engineering software and digital services.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Lenze frequency and servo inverters, including current and earlier generations, for machine builders and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.
Lenze product series
Current inverters on this site are the i500 family: the i510 compact frequency inverter, the i550 cabinet inverter and its i550 protec decentral version for mounting on the machine, and the i950 cabinet servo inverter. Earlier generations that are still widely installed are also listed: the 8400 StateLine C inverters (E84AVSC...), the 8200 vector frequency inverters (E82EV...) and the 9300 servo position controllers and servo inverters (EVS93...), including versions with Safe Torque Off.
Where Lenze drives are used
Conveyors and intralogistics, packaging and bottling lines, pumps and fans, hoists, textile and printing machines, and positioning axes on special machines. Many plants in the region keep 8200 vector and 9300 drives in service and need exact replacements or a planned migration to the i500 series.
Ordering Lenze inverters: what we need
Send the complete type code from the nameplate, for example E84AVSCE5524SX0, together with the supply voltage, motor power and current, the control interface or fieldbus module, and any options such as safety functions, keypad or brake resistor. When replacing an installed drive, keep the parameter set and wiring records, because a new unit or a successor model must be parameterised to match the machine.
