Lenze i950-C7.5/400-3 Cabinet Servo Inverter

Description

Servo inverter for multi-axis motion with built-in technology software

The Lenze i950-C7.5/400-3 is a 7.5 kW servo inverter for control cabinet mounting, part of the Lenze i950 cabinet range. Lenze designs the i950 for precise, dynamic motion in multi-axis machines. The drive can work under a higher-level controller or run motion logic itself, using pre-configured technology applications from the Lenze FAST Application Software Toolbox, so many functions are set by parameters rather than programmed.

The i950 drives both synchronous and asynchronous servo motors. With One Cable Technology (OCT), power and the digital encoder signal share one motor cable, which reduces wiring in the machine and the risk of interference on feedback lines.

FAST technology applications

Lenze ships the i950 with ready-made technology modules for common machine tasks: speed control, table positioning, electronic gearbox, synchronism with mark correction, and winders with dancer position or torque control. A CiA 402 Advanced module makes integration with third-party control systems easier. For packaging, converting and handling machines, this approach shortens commissioning because the motion sequence is configured in dialogs; the software modules can still be adapted when a machine needs special behaviour.

Several i950 axes are synchronised over the EtherCAT-based system bus for real-time data exchange, for example to create an electrical line shaft between web-handling stations.

Selection and documentation

Size the axis from the motor’s peak and continuous current: 16.5 A is the rated output current of this type, and the i950 range is specified for multiple overload. Before ordering, define the fieldbus module, the feedback type matching the motor (resolver, encoder or OCT), the safety option and whether a DC-bus group is planned. The 2019 Lenze flyer attached here lists ratings from 0.55 to 110 kW; Lenze’s current website gives the range as 0.37 to 250 kW, so confirm the current product key with the motor selection.

About brand

Lenze develops drive and automation technology for machine building, with products and systems spanning mechatronics, control hardware and engineering software. Its frequency inverters, motion equipment and accessories are selected as parts of the complete machine application. Supply voltage, motor current, control interface, mounting arrangement and the required protective equipment all affect the correct execution. Lenze also provides software and digital services for automation and machine engineering. When replacing installed equipment, preserve the full model and option codes together with the parameter and wiring records. Seven Star LLC quotation enquiries for Oman and the GCC should include the requested references, quantities, application details and any separately required drive accessories.
