Fuji Electric FRENIC-AQUA AQ1 Pump Variable Frequency Drive
Description
The Fuji Electric FRENIC-AQUA AQ1 is a three-phase 380 to 480 V variable frequency drive developed for water supply, wastewater and other pumping duties. One platform covers standard motors from 0.75 kW up to 710 kW, so a plant can keep the same keypad, parameter structure and spare-parts logic from a small booster set to a large lift station.
Pump control functions in a compact drive
Fuji positions the AQ1 as its first compact three-phase drive designed specifically for water supply and wastewater treatment. The page and datasheet list typical uses such as potable-water supply, constant-flow and tankless booster sets, submersible and well pumps, sludge and cooling-water pumps, irrigation, and general pump or fan loads. Control is by V/f with slip compensation or dynamic torque vector control, with 16 preset speeds, acceleration and deceleration times from 0 to 3,600 s, and analog speed references of 0 to 10 V or 4 to 20 mA.
A DC reactor is built in for the whole range (standard accessory on the largest frames), which limits input harmonics in line with IEC/EN 61000-3-2 and 61000-3-12. The datasheet lists category C2 emissions for the smaller ratings and category C3 for the largest ones. BACnet MS/TP, Modbus RTU and Metasys N2 are fitted as standard, and optional cards add PROFIBUS-DP, DeviceNet, CANopen, CC-Link, LONWORKS and Ethernet communication, a Pt100 temperature input, an analog interface and relay outputs.

Selecting and installing the AQ1
Confirm the pump type and duty first. Centrifugal pumps on a quadratic torque curve suit the 110 % overload rating, while positive-displacement or heavily loaded pumps need a current check against the table above. Choose IP21 or IP55 up to 90 kW depending on whether the drive sits in a panel or on the plant wall, and plan cabinet ventilation for the IP00 frames from 110 kW. Check the supply voltage, cable length to the motor, required communication card and any Pt100 or relay card before ordering. Option cards and braking resistors are ordered separately. For a comparison with another drive family, see the WEG CFW11 variable speed drive on our site, or browse all AC drives.

About brand
Fuji Electric, founded in 1923 and headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, is a maker of power and industrial electrical equipment, and its process instruments are common in control panels: controllers, pressure transmitters, flow meters and gas analyzers. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Oman, lists a Fuji Electric controller with the order code PDA312C1-BCYCD-10 and sources Fuji Electric instruments by order code.
Fuji Electric instruments for process control
The current instrumentation program of Fuji Electric France covers PID temperature controllers of the PXF series, SCR power controllers, pressure transmitters including the FCX-AIV series, ultrasonic and electromagnetic flow meters, temperature probes and transmitters, and gas analyzers. Order codes that start with PDA3, like the listed one, appear in distributor part lists under the Fuji Electric CC-M, a panel-mounted process controller built with one, two or four control loops. Furnaces, dryers and utility skids in the GCC are typical places to find such controllers.
Ordering Fuji Electric controllers: what we need
Fuji order codes are position coded. On the CC-M the characters cover the number of loops, the input signal, the power supply, and the communication and programming options. Send the complete code from the label, such as PDA312C1-BCYCD-10, together with the serial number. If the code can no longer be ordered, tell us the input signals, outputs, supply voltage and panel cutout so that the manufacturer's current equivalent can be requested.
