Fuji Electric ZSS In-Situ Laser Gas Analyzer

Description

An in-situ laser gas analyzer that needs no sample conditioning

The Fuji Electric ZSS is a cross-stack laser gas analyzer. A near-infrared semiconductor laser beam crosses the duct between a transmitter and a receiver, so the gas is measured in situ without sampling lines or gas conditioning, with a response of 4 s or less (2 s for the high-speed version). Fuji Electric France lists continuous HCl measurement in waste incinerators, NH3 in power plants and denitrification systems, and CO, CO2 and O2 in steel mills and chemical plants, and describes it as tolerant of dust so it can sit upstream of filters where extractive sampling is difficult.

Two-component CO + O2 and dual-beam versions are also listed. Scales shown are for a 1 m optical path.

Selection notes

State the gas component and range, stack or duct diameter, gas temperature, dust load, water content and available purge gas, because the model letter is chosen by component, temperature and purge medium. The unit is documented for combustion and incineration monitoring; confirm hazardous-area suitability if required. Related analyzers are under gas analyzer systems.

About brand

Fuji Electric, founded in 1923 and headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, is a maker of power and industrial electrical equipment, and its process instruments are common in control panels: controllers, pressure transmitters, flow meters and gas analyzers. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Oman, lists a Fuji Electric controller with the order code PDA312C1-BCYCD-10 and sources Fuji Electric instruments by order code.

Fuji Electric instruments for process control

The current instrumentation program of Fuji Electric France covers PID temperature controllers of the PXF series, SCR power controllers, pressure transmitters including the FCX-AIV series, ultrasonic and electromagnetic flow meters, temperature probes and transmitters, and gas analyzers. Order codes that start with PDA3, like the listed one, appear in distributor part lists under the Fuji Electric CC-M, a panel-mounted process controller built with one, two or four control loops. Furnaces, dryers and utility skids in the GCC are typical places to find such controllers.

Ordering Fuji Electric controllers: what we need

Fuji order codes are position coded. On the CC-M the characters cover the number of loops, the input signal, the power supply, and the communication and programming options. Send the complete code from the label, such as PDA312C1-BCYCD-10, together with the serial number. If the code can no longer be ordered, tell us the input signals, outputs, supply voltage and panel cutout so that the manufacturer's current equivalent can be requested.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the ZSS measure?
With a near-infrared laser beam across the duct (in situ), so no gas conditioning is needed.

HCl, NH3, CO, CO2, CH4 and O2, plus combined CO + O2 and CO + CO2 versions.
What power does it need?
100-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, 80 VA.
What protection rating applies?
IP65.
