Delta DVP-SE2 Slim PLC with Dual Ethernet, 64k Steps
Description
Delta DVP-SE2 slim PLC with a built-in two-port Ethernet switch
The Delta DVP-SE2 is a second-generation slim PLC whose most distinctive feature is a pair of 10/100 Mbit Ethernet ports that work as a switch. Machines or panels can be linked in a line, controller to controller, with no separate switch and much less cabling. Delta also says the series is widely used in Europe and America inside the DVP Slim family, and that program execution is faster than the first generation.
Beyond networking, the controller offers 64k steps of program memory, a 32-bit processor, USB 2.0, a CAN port and a Micro SD interface. Seven Star LLC supplies the DVP-SE2 in Oman and the GCC as an independent supplier in Muscat.
Model codes
The two listed variants are DVP28SE211T (NPN output) and DVP28SE211S (PNP output). Both deliver 28 built-in points as 16 digital inputs and 12 digital outputs. No relay-output model is listed on the product page.

How the DVP-SE2 network and high-speed functions work
Both Ethernet ports sit behind an internal switch. In switch mode, traffic entering one port is forwarded to the other, so controllers can be chained along a machine. In the dual IP mode introduced with firmware V1.04, the two ports can be given separate addresses, which helps when a machine network must be kept apart from a plant network.
The high-speed counters and pulse outputs run in hardware, independent of the scan time. That makes the controller suitable for encoder counting and for pulse-train positioning of stepper or servo drives. The CAN port covers Delta servo systems with up to 16 slaves in CANopen DS301 mode.
Fitting the DVP-SE2 in a DVP system
The DVP-SE2 sits next to the third-generation DVP-SV3 and DVP-SX3. Those two use the AS-core processor and DIADesigner, while the DVP-SE2 uses ISPSoft and offers the dual-Ethernet layout. Both families remain programmed from the same Delta engineering ecosystem, but project files are not interchangeable between ISPSoft and DIADesigner without checking conversion support. Pick the DVP-SE2 when a daisy-chain network and an existing ISPSoft code base matter; pick the DVP-SV3 or DVP-SX3 when 64K steps with the newer core and security features are preferred.
Extension is split: right-side modules for standard I/O and left-side high-speed modules, up to 8 on each side. Check the module catalogue for each module’s compatibility.
DVP-SE2 selection checklist
- Output type: T (NPN) or S (PNP). Relay output is not on the listed model range.
- Network design: daisy chain, dual IP, Modbus TCP client or server, EtherNet/IP adapter role.
- High-speed demand: number of encoders and pulse axes against 3 counters and 4 axes.
- Memory: 64k steps with 12k general registers and 8k parameter memory.
- Software: ISPSoft V3.20 or later.
- Firmware: V1.04 or later if you need dual IP or the web page.
Installation, commissioning and spares for the DVP-SE2
Use shielded Ethernet cable and keep patch lengths within standard limits. When chaining several units, note that every unit between the engineer and the target adds a hop, so avoid very long chains on time-critical links. Set IP addresses before installation and record them in the panel documentation.
Check the firmware version when receiving a unit, because features differ by version. Keep spare CPUs of the same output type and a copy of the project, and use the Micro SD card for backup. Because both listed models have transistor outputs, switch relays, solenoids or other inductive loads through interposing relays with suppression.
Typical DVP-SE2 applications in Oman and the GCC
Delta lists remote device monitoring, production line monitoring, building automation, printing machines and container fillers with recipe handling. In the Gulf these map to remote pumping and utility stations, BMS plant rooms, packaging and filling lines, and OEM machines. The dual-port design also reduces the number of switch ports and DIN-rail space needed in each panel, which matters in compact skid cabinets. A panel with dual Ethernet is useful where each machine in a line needs to report to a SCADA over a short chain of cables.

About brand
Delta Electronics is a Taiwanese maker of power and automation products, founded in April 1971 by Bruce Cheng with 15 employees in a small factory in Sinjhuang, Taipei County. Its first products were TV deflection coils and electronic components; it later became a leading maker of switching power supplies and added drives, PLCs and HMIs for industrial automation. Delta is headquartered in Neihu, Taipei, and listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
Seven Star LLC lists the Delta DVP04AD-S2 analog input module and the ESR-48/30D rectifier module, and sources Delta PLC modules and power parts for panel builders and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.

Delta PLC families and the DVP slim line
Delta's controller program runs from the DVP series through the modular AS series to the AH series. Inside the DVP series, the slim CPUs (among them DVP-SS2, SA2, SX2, SV2 and SE) take slim expansion modules on their right side. The DVP04AD-S2 is one of these: a four-channel analog input module for voltage or current signals, which the CPU reads with FROM and TO instructions.

FAQ
Questions about the Delta DVP-SE2 Slim PLC with Dual Ethernet, 64k Steps
Answers from our engineering team on installation, compatibility and integration.
01What makes the DVP-SE2 different from other DVP slim PLCs?
It has two built-in Ethernet ports acting as a switch, so units can be chained in a daisy-chain topology without an external switch. Dual IP mode and a web page are available with firmware V1.04.
02Which models of the DVP-SE2 are listed?
DVP28SE211T has NPN output and DVP28SE211S has PNP output. Both provide 16 digital inputs and 12 digital outputs.
03What is the execution speed of the DVP-SE2?
The page gives 0.35 us for LD instructions and 1.29 us for MOV. A 32-bit high-speed processor is used and Delta states about twice the overall speed of the earlier DVP-SE host.
04Which software is used for the DVP-SE2?
The specification lists ISPSoft V3.20 or a later version. The languages listed are IL, LD and SFC.
05Can the DVP-SE2 drive servos?
A built-in CAN port runs CANopen DS301 with up to 16 slaves and is described for Delta 8-axis servo systems. Three built-in high-speed counters of up to 100 kHz and four axes (8 points) of 100 kHz position output are listed.
