Pfannenberg PF 22000 230V IP55 Filterfan, UV-Stable Cover
Description
PF 22000 230V IP55 filterfan with fluted filter and UV-stable cover
The PF 22000 230V IP55 is the IP55 version of the size-2 Pfannenberg filterfan. It runs on 230 V AC, delivers 56 m³/h at 50 Hz and 64 m³/h at 60 Hz, and uses a fluted filter with 91 percent efficiency behind a UV-stable cover. Seven Star LLC supplies the PF 22000 230V IP55 in Oman and the GCC as an independent supplier in Muscat.
The code reads like its IP54 sibling, with the final group IP55 pointing to the higher protection class. Its article number is 11622103055. The frame, the cut-out of 125 x 125 mm and the fan are the same as for the IP54 version, so existing cut-outs can be reused when a unit is upgraded for harsher conditions.

What IP55 and the UV cover change on the PF 22000 230V IP55
IP55 means protection against dust deposits that could harm operation and against water jets from any direction. The fluted filter has a larger surface in the same frame, which is why filtration efficiency rises from 88 to 91 percent, while the airflow falls slightly because the filter offers more resistance. The UV-stable cover resists yellowing and embrittlement under strong sunshine.
These details matter for kiosks and field cabinets in the open. A standard grey plastic cover can become brittle after several summers in direct sun, and cracks in the louvres let sand into the filter chamber. The upgraded material reduces this ageing.
Choosing between IP54 and IP55 for the PF 22000 230V IP55 family
The IP54 unit gives about 10 percent more air and is fine inside buildings. The IP55 unit is the correct choice for outdoor panels, wash-down areas and dusty halls. Both are ordered by article number, so state the IP class clearly in an RFQ to avoid a mix-up.
Fit in the system and related parts
An exhaust filter of the matching size completes the pair, and a rainhood adds weather protection for panels in the open. For electronics that need shielding there is an EMC version. Other size-2 voltage versions exist for 24 V DC, 48 V DC and 115 V AC.
PF 22000 230V IP55 selection and ordering checklist
- Indoor or outdoor location and exposure to sun and spray
- Heat load and acceptable temperature rise
- Ambient temperature at site
- 230 V AC, 50 or 60 Hz supply
- Cut-out of 125 mm square
- Exhaust filter and rainhood
- Spare fluted filter mats
Installing and maintaining the PF 22000 230V IP55
Install with the louvres pointing downward when mounted on a vertical wall so water runs off, and seal the panel cut-out well. Keep the cabinet door gaskets intact, because a filterfan only maintains the cabinet protection class if the rest of the cabinet is equally sealed.
Replace the fluted filter when it is dirty. In sandy conditions, cleaning by tapping may be enough once, but permanent loading by oil mist needs replacement. Watch for yellowing of the cover and fan noise.
Typical PF 22000 230V IP55 applications in Oman and the GCC
Oil and gas, power, desalination and petrochemical sites in Oman and the GCC share the same enemies of control cabinets: ambient air that is hot for most of the year, fine sand and, on the coast, humid salty air. The IP55 filterfan suits roadside and pipeline kiosks, outdoor motor control boxes, jetty panels and cabinets in open process areas. The UV-stable cover is helpful when panels face the sun for long hours.
PF 22000 IP55 family
| Model | Supply | Article |
|---|---|---|
| PF 22000 24V IP55 | 24 V DC | 11622803055 |
| PF 22000 230V IP55 | 230 V AC | 11622103055 |
| PF 22000 115V IP55 | 115 V AC | 11622153055 |
| PF 22000 48V IP55 | 48 V DC | 11622703055 |
Consider the maintenance interval together with the higher protection class. Because the fluted filter has more surface area, it can hold more dust before the airflow drops noticeably, which stretches the time between filter changes compared with a flat mat of the same frame. Even so, sand storms that load a filter within days are a feature of desert sites, so keep a stock of spare mats on the site store and agree a replacement routine with the operator. After any storm, a quick visual check of the louvres and the mat takes only minutes and avoids an overheated cabinet later in the week.

Site conditions in Oman for the PF 22000 230V IP55
Panel cooling in Oman is sized for the worst case, not the average day. Summer shade temperatures in Muscat, Sohar and the interior regularly pass 45 °C, and a cabinet standing in direct sun gains further heat through its walls. When you size the PF 22000 230V IP55, add the internal losses of drives, power supplies and PLCs to the solar and wall gain, and compare the total with the useful cooling capacity at your real ambient and target cabinet temperature, rather than with a nominal figure stated at milder test conditions.
Coastal sites near Duqm, Salalah or Sur also bring humidity and salt-laden dust. Keep door seals intact, route the condensate drain away from live parts, and plan routine filter and coil cleaning so that the PF 22000 230V IP55 keeps its rated performance through the long summer season.

About brand
Pfannenberg is the German maker of thermal management and signalling products for electrical enclosures and industry: filter fans, cooling units, air-to-water heat exchangers, chillers, heaters, sirens and beacons. Otto Pfannenberg, an electrical engineer, founded the company in Hamburg in 1954, and in 1958 he invented the filter fan to stop components in control cabinets from overheating. Pfannenberg is still family-owned and headquartered in Hamburg.
