Description
GBC 10s: a brass ball valve for small copper refrigerant lines
The 009L7051 is a GBC 10s shut-off ball valve with 3/8 in ODF solder connections, a brass body and copper connection tubes. The valve has an access port with a Schrader valve fitted, a wire-sealed cap and two M3 panel-mounting holes, so it can be fixed to a panel or a bracket. The Kv value is 8.04 m3/h and the net weight is 0.16 kg.
Danfoss gives a maximum working pressure of 45 bar (650 psig) and a temperature range of -40 to 100 C; with oil-free refrigerants the maximum medium temperature is 80 C. The valve is bi-flow, has an embossed two-way arrow, and carries C UL US Listed, EAC and UA approvals.

Using the GBC 10s in HVAC-R pipework
Ball valves of this series isolate sections of small refrigeration and air-conditioning circuits: compressor inlet and outlet, receiver, filter-drier and the evaporator. The access port gives a service connection on the process side without adding another fitting.
The oil-free refrigerant list includes R1234ze(E), R134a, R513A, R515B and R516A, which matters for chillers and air-conditioning using oil-free compressors. The valve is listed as having been assessed for ignition sources.
Brazing, handling and ordering notes
Solder carefully and wet-wrap the body so the seats and the Schrader core are not overheated. A ball valve should be fully open or fully closed; leaving it half-open will wear the seats. Replace the sealed cap after use.

Milestones

Choosing Danfoss products
For solenoid valves, check the operating principle. A direct-operated valve such as EV210B opens even at 0 bar differential pressure. A servo-operated valve such as EV220B needs a minimum differential (typically about 0.3 bar) to open, while an assisted-lift valve such as EV250B works from 0 bar. Coils are ordered separately, so the voltage on the coil (for example 230 V AC or 24 V DC) must match the control circuit. For drives, the VLT family is split by application: FC 51 Micro Drive for small machines, FC 102 HVAC Drive for fans and pumps in buildings, FC 202 AQUA Drive for water, and FC 302 AutomationDrive for demanding industrial duty.
