Description
ETS 12C Colibri: a compact stainless-steel stepper expansion valve with ATEX marking
Danfoss 034G7501 is an ETS 12C from the Colibri line. It is a stainless-steel electric expansion valve with 16 mm (5/8 in) ODF connections, a Kv value of 0.8 m3/h, a stroke of 600 full steps and an M12 four-pin connector. The motor is bipolar, with 600 mA RMS and 800 mA peak phase current, and it can be driven with full steps, half steps or microsteps; Danfoss recommends microstepping.
Full travel takes only 3 to 6 s, much faster than the ETS 12.5. Rated capacity at the standard conditions is 60.7 kW on R404A/R507A and 98.1 kW on R410A, and the valve is approved for oil-free applications with R1234ze(E), R134a, R513A, R515A, R515B and R516A. The maximum working pressure is 50 bar and MaxOPD 40 bar.

Colibri features and use
Colibri valves are made for chillers, heat pumps and air-handling units where compact size and fast response matter. The body is stainless steel; the page lists approvals ATEX, CCC, CE, CMIM, EAC, UKCA and UR, and an Ex marking of II 3G Ex ec IIB T4 Gc. The ambient range is -40 to 70 C and the refrigerant temperature up to 95 C.
Compatible Danfoss controllers listed are EKE 1A, EKE 1B, EKE 1C, MCX 061V and MCX 152V. The valve is balanced-port and bi-flow with a laser-engraved two-way arrow. It is not serviceable, and has no sight glass.
Electrical data and ordering notes
Power consumption is up to 7.2 W with either current or voltage drive, notably higher than the ETS 12.5, so check the output of the controller. The step mode, the full-step count of 600 and the 0.8 A maximum operating current appear in the data table above.
Confirm the refrigerant, the Ex requirement of your installation and the connection size against the Colibri data sheet before ordering. Different Colibri sizes (ETS 24C, 25C, 50C, 100C) share the data sheet but have different code numbers and flow ratings.

About brand

Choosing Danfoss products
For solenoid valves, check the operating principle. A direct-operated valve such as EV210B opens even at 0 bar differential pressure. A servo-operated valve such as EV220B needs a minimum differential (typically about 0.3 bar) to open, while an assisted-lift valve such as EV250B works from 0 bar. Coils are ordered separately, so the voltage on the coil (for example 230 V AC or 24 V DC) must match the control circuit. For drives, the VLT family is split by application: FC 51 Micro Drive for small machines, FC 102 HVAC Drive for fans and pumps in buildings, FC 202 AQUA Drive for water, and FC 302 AutomationDrive for demanding industrial duty.
