Danfoss 027H1085 is an ICMTS 20A, the high-pressure motor-operated valve of the ICM family for transcritical CO2 (R744) systems. The steel body has 25 mm (1 in) butt-weld connections to EN 10220, a Kv value of 0.6 m3/h and a maximum working pressure of 140 bar (2030 psig); the maximum operating pressure differential is 90 bar (1305 psig).
The temperature range is -60 to 120 C. Approvals shown are CE, CRN, EAC and UA, and the page lists the EKC 326A as a compatible Danfoss controller. The valve is moved by an ICAD 600B-TS actuator and has manual operation through the ICAD setting or the multifunction tool, with a 3 s open/close time.

Transcritical CO2 high-pressure control
In a transcritical booster system the gas cooler outlet must be held at a pressure that is optimal for the heat-rejection conditions, and a high-pressure expansion valve does this. The ICMTS is intended for exactly that duty, whereas the ICM 20-A has a 52 bar limit and cannot be used here.
Because CO2 expands through a very large pressure difference, the valve is selected from Kv and flash-gas conditions; the data sheet for ICMTS with ICAD 600B-TS gives capacity charts. The valve is used with a high-pressure controller that reads gas-cooler outlet pressure and temperature.
Ordering and commissioning notes
Order the ICAD 600B-TS actuator with the valve body; the ICAD 600B for ICM is not the same part. Weld the body with the internals protected and follow the installation guide for ICMTS with ICAD 600B-TS for torque and orientation.
Confirm the pressure class of the rest of the high-side circuit, the controller (EKC 326A or equivalent) and the required Kv before ordering. A different ICMTS size, such as 20B or 20C, covers a higher flow.

Choosing Danfoss products
For solenoid valves, check the operating principle. A direct-operated valve such as EV210B opens even at 0 bar differential pressure. A servo-operated valve such as EV220B needs a minimum differential (typically about 0.3 bar) to open, while an assisted-lift valve such as EV250B works from 0 bar. Coils are ordered separately, so the voltage on the coil (for example 230 V AC or 24 V DC) must match the control circuit. For drives, the VLT family is split by application: FC 51 Micro Drive for small machines, FC 102 HVAC Drive for fans and pumps in buildings, FC 202 AQUA Drive for water, and FC 302 AutomationDrive for demanding industrial duty.
