ICSH 25: a dual-position servo valve for on/off duty in industrial refrigeration
The 027H2308 is an ICSH 25, a dual-position servo valve for ON/OFF duty from the Danfoss industrial refrigeration range. It has 25 mm (1 in) butt-weld connections to ASME B 36.10M Schedule 80, a straightway flow path and a Kv value of 11.5 m3/h, which is much higher than the 3.5 m3/h of the ICS3 25-10 body of the same connection size.

Dual-position valves in refrigerant lines
A dual-position valve is either fully open or closed, used for liquid-line shut-off, hot-gas defrost and suction-line stop duty where the plant controller commands a start or a stop. The servo principle allows a large flow from a small coil because the line pressure assists the piston.
The ICSH series spans 25 to 80 mm in one installation guide (Dual Position solenoid valve – ICSH 25-80), and the data table of the product page gives no minimum differential. Check the data sheet for the minimum opening differential and the coil data, because those depend on the pilot module fitted.

Choosing Danfoss products
For solenoid valves, check the operating principle. A direct-operated valve such as EV210B opens even at 0 bar differential pressure. A servo-operated valve such as EV220B needs a minimum differential (typically about 0.3 bar) to open, while an assisted-lift valve such as EV250B works from 0 bar. Coils are ordered separately, so the voltage on the coil (for example 230 V AC or 24 V DC) must match the control circuit. For drives, the VLT family is split by application: FC 51 Micro Drive for small machines, FC 102 HVAC Drive for fans and pumps in buildings, FC 202 AQUA Drive for water, and FC 302 AutomationDrive for demanding industrial duty.
